I’ve been to The Local Open many times with my wife. The food is ok, and the atmosphere is nice — but unfortunately, the owner ruins the entire experience.
Every single time, without fail, he completely ignores me and my son, and instead spends his energy flirting with my wife right in front of us. He asks her personal questions, goes out of his way to make conversation, and frankly makes her (and us) very uncomfortable. It’s become obvious that he surrounds himself with only young female staff as well, which adds to the unprofessional and creepy vibe.
It’s disappointing, because the restaurant could be a great spot otherwise. But because of the owner’s behavior, we will not be going back. A piece of good food isn’t worth putting my family through that kind of uncomfortable situation. Birdies is in the same plaza with better food, much better service, and no creeper!

This place is the bomb. This place is a reflection of the owner, who is an amazing person. I have eaten here several times, and everything is extremely delicious. I think this is the best food in Prosper, TX. All the food is fresh and not frozen like most places.
Best French toast I've ever had; also, let me add they have the best burgers in Prosper and Frisco, TX.
Please treat yourself and stop by. You will not be disappointed, but you may get addicted. Drinks are on point and are my favorite part.

Brunch is delicious. The menu has decent selections. We’ve had French toast , chicken and waffles, and breakfast pizza. All really great flavor. French toast crispy edges, chicken packed with flavor, waffles are delightful. The pizza was spot on. The restaurant is clean and the decor is nice. The service is good too. Looking forward to dinner and or happy hour.

We absolutely loved The Local Open! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and attentive specifically Jack and Alexis, they were so kind and welcoming! making sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish had that homemade touch that makes it stand out. I also really appreciated the cozy vibe, it feels like a place where you can relax and truly enjoy yourself. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a full meal, The Local Open is definitely worth the visit. Can’t wait to come back!

i came here on my way home from my birthday vacation and i was craving some brunch so i looked up some places , due to having horrible brunch yesterday i wanted to try something different , i stumbled on this restaurant and i was greeted by mike the store owner , MAGNIFICENT GUY OK ! customer service is A1 , he told me he has really great food and everything is homemade .. BOY did it over exceed my expectations, HE DID NOT LIE , and i’m a big critic for food , this tops all burger places , mind you whataburger is my favorite and i would say , LOCAL OPEN HAVE THEM BEAT ! i’m a houston girl so i wish it was down in houston , they would def love this spot , this spot will push other spots out of business i wish i can be over exaggerating! and my waiter was amy ! very attentive , atmosphere is nice as well, so is the ambience , i wish mike the best , mike is also very active with his customers, checking to see if everything is okay with the food , my favorite part is that they customize it to your liking , food came out swiftly , no long wait at all , A MUST TRY ! you won’t be disappointed!!

The place and the food are very aesthetically pleasing, but the food is overpriced and doesn’t taste good and the service was terrible.
We came in a Saturday morning, the lady at the front said that they were really busy so we would have to sit outside. This was fine, but we noticed on the way out that not even half the tables were full. We sat outside and were immediately forgotten. It took 20 minutes for our server to come. She was polite, but after delivering our food we didn’t see her again for a half hour. I got the breakfast BLT waffle, and she didn’t bring syrup out so I asked for some. My friend also asked for a mimosa. We were eating and talking, and my syrup and his mimosa didn’t come out until after we were finished eating. In fact his mimosa never came out. We sat outside for 30 minutes waiting only for our server to bring my syrup out, and tell him the bar was backed up. It then started to lightly rain, the hostess came out and said, “you guys can sit inside.” In a tone that was like, “why are y’all still out there?”. We finally got our check and walked through the building to leave, seeing that there was the same amount of full tables as there were when we came in. So busy for this place is maybe 50% full. Wouldn’t recommend.

The food was great,my kids enjoyed it!! It’s really nice atmosphere… Service wasn’t terrible but it did feel we were being rushed out of there. The server struggled a bit with listening to what we wanted. I said one thing she did another this happened twice. Then I asked for something and she just forgot about it this happened twice.

Went on a busy Sunday to try a new brunch place and was not disappointed. I had the local open French toast which was unreal delicious - if you like bananas, this will rocket your tastebuds into straight bliss. My hubby had chicken and waffles which delivered a nice juxtaposition of sweet and salty and was on the more tasty end of what you’d expect from a chicken/waffle combo. Coffee was smooth, low acidity, really complimented my French toast. Will absolutely be adding this spot into our brunch rotation. Very busy so make a reservation or sit in the lounge as we did.
