You can tell that the owner, Mike, leads a great team! I’ve visited The Local Open in Prosper multiple times, and I’ve always loved the food, atmosphere, and service. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff consistently provide friendly, attentive service. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious, but my recent brunch visit truly stood out. I ordered the French toast, and it was absolutely out of this world—easily the best French toast I’ve ever had. It was perfectly prepared, incredibly flavorful, and worth coming back for on its own. I highly recommend this place overall, but their French toast is an absolute must-try!

We’ve been to The Local Open five times in the last two weeks—and one Saturday we even went twice (lunch AND dinner). That’s how good this place is.
The food and portions are consistently excellent. My wife is obsessed with the steak sandwich, and I can’t get enough of the blackened chicken sandwich. The breakfast pizzas? Absolute fire.
I’m a total fry snob, and their fries are also fire—perfectly crispy, perfectly seasoned.
Hands down my new favorite restaurant. If you haven’t been yet, go. Then go again.

Recent Experience: Recently hosted a truly amazing birthday get-together at Local Open, and it exceeded all expectations. The service was exceptional from start to finish—the entire team was outstanding, especially Jack for his attentive and friendly service.
The food was equally impressive; everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We reserved one of the gaming bays and it was the absolute highlight for the kids. They had a blast and were entertained the whole time! Highly recommend Local Open for any group celebration.

My friend and I saw this place on TikTok and had to come check it out! The atmosphere, food, and service is amazing. We had the pleasure of having the owner serve us. He was very nice and makes really good bloody Mary’s! Haha It was worth the hour drive from Garland and we will come back again ☺️

Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had! The Local Open Burger was juicy, flavorful, and that bacon jam took it over the top. The fries were perfectly crispy and reminded me of my grandma’s homemade ones. Just incredible!
MIKE, the owner was sitting at the bar and was a super nice guy to me. The cauliflower Margarita pizza had such fresh cheese. It was amazing! The steak sandwich with a gluten-free bun is also very good. The best gluten-free bun I’ve had in a long time. Our server Audree was very polite. We plan on coming back to see them again.

Went with the family ( seven of us) on Oct 14th . That was yesterday. The atmosphere was great. The staff were welcoming and friendly. As it was the first time for us we wanted to understand how the games were played. The staff were very patient esp. with the kids. We had a wonderful time . The staff were not intrusive , but checking up to see how we were doing. What with the food and drinks we had a gala time smacking the golf balls all over the place. Thank You.

Stopped in to kill a few minutes and have a drink. Upon walking in, this place shattered my expectations. This is a nice, classy, almost elegant place. Didn't plan to eat anything, but saw the Honey Cornbread and had to try it. It was great! Now I cant wait to go back and try an actual meal. Service was great, place was great, food was great.

I’ve been to The Local Open many times with my wife. The food is ok, and the atmosphere is nice — but unfortunately, the owner ruins the entire experience.
Every single time, without fail, he completely ignores me and my son, and instead spends his energy flirting with my wife right in front of us. He asks her personal questions, goes out of his way to make conversation, and frankly makes her (and us) very uncomfortable. It’s become obvious that he surrounds himself with only young female staff as well, which adds to the unprofessional and creepy vibe.
It’s disappointing, because the restaurant could be a great spot otherwise. But because of the owner’s behavior, we will not be going back. A piece of good food isn’t worth putting my family through that kind of uncomfortable situation. Birdies is in the same plaza with better food, much better service, and no creeper!
