Our first time in we are not locals. Food was good but due to service we probably won’t be back. Saw our beer sit at the bar for 10 min before being brought to our table hot. Only saw our waitress once.
Sarah's is a great little lunch spot that doesnt miss the mark. The inviting environment takes you to a warm welcome from the wait staff. The food is fresh and comes out fairly quickly, especially for being made to order food. Get there early though, as it gets busy fast!
Love the place
The service was fantastic. Not a huge selection of food, but was able to find something and it tasted good. Looked like they had a big selection of desserts but I didn't try any.
Grew up in Gainesville and this is my absolute favorite restaurant downtown! Great service, amazing fresh food, and the desserts are a must! Also the fried green beans are the best appetizer possible and I always look forward to them as I walk through the door. I absolutely recommend this restaurant!
The waitress and bar tender were very personal. Food served in a timely manner. There were 18 of us and the staff handled it with ease.
Wonderful staff great food reasonable prices. Just a bit too loud for me but a great place for dinner.
Tomato Gin Bisque soup is incredibly delicious. Love the decor and staff is amazing. We will definitely be coming back for desert!
Poor management. We arrived shortly before 7:00p pm on a below normal cold Friday night. Sign upon entry stated seat yourself, note that no hostess was there to greet patrons. We chose a table toward the middle near a wall to avoid the cold winter chill that blew each time the entry door was opened. When we arrived there were four tables with a minimum of four seats available, our party was simply our family two adults and two children. Once seated and situated we waited for a waitress who appeared after several minutes, short staffed for a Friday night. We were then notified we were sitting at a reserved table. Still lacking in all communication from the establishment we asked why they had not then had a hostess to greet and direct custimers the owners daughter began to argue and become more rude by the ask of simple questions on management. We moved to a corner table near the entry and observed several customers came and go as they were not greeted by a hostess only the sign of please seat yourself. We ordered drinks two kid sodas, a water and a flat coke with a shot of jack. This order took 10+ minutes (we had a few sips) and the food menu was small but some of the items seemed appealing. We sat and observed more customers come and go. By all appearances the reserved tables were for a LARGE wedding party they had failed to disclose to anyone. They must have been over capacity from our observation due to them not wanting to own up to their short comings of management skills. The restaurant should have closed to walk-in patrons and had the large party alone for a minimum time. Our waitress reappeared after 15-20 minutes to take our orders. We were given iced cold rolls that were doughy and not properly cooked along with cold butter balls. Only two sets of utensils. As we continued to sit we observed a table near the bar getting ready to leave and told our waitress we will be moving seats, yes told not asked, lack of planning on their part not a customer issue. We were then greeted with it's "reserved"...where are your reserved signs and exactly HOW MANY were in this party you double booked? This establishment needs a refresher on management skills and customer service from the "manager on duty" last night. We ended up walking out of the restaurant after our order was placed (and never saw the waitress again) and returned to our local favorite Krootz Brewing where we were greeted upon arrival and direct communication. We often frequent both mom and pop diners and five star across the country with our children and will never return to Sarah's again. Do better! And keep track of your capacity allowed!
Absolutely amazing! With a unique and eclectic menu, the food was fantastic! The service, friendly and attentive, and the beautiful location, decor and atmosphere made our lunch experience perfect. I highly recommend the Gin Tomato Bisque and the Mushroom Swiss Burger with seasoned fries. All that at very affordable prices! Tiffany was a wonderful server! We will definitely be back!
