Outstanding breakfast buffet with omelette station, salmon bar, and delightful fruit selection. Service was top tier with table visits by manager Jon Paul. Restuarant overlooks the tropical pool area.

We dined at Blake's Bistro several times during our stay at the San Luis Resort and Spa, enjoying lunch twice and dinner once. The food, every single time, was outstanding. The flavors were consistently fresh and vibrant, and the kitchen is clearly capable of delivering memorable dishes. That said, the dining experience itself was a bit more complex. On our first lunch visit, the wait for food stretched to nearly an hour, which felt unusual given that the restaurant was not particularly busy. I voiced this concern with the hotel, and to their credit, the food and beverage manager Tiffany reached out to me directly. She was warm, apologetic, and proactive. She even personally facilitated our next lunch, ensuring we were better taken care of. While the wait was still around 45 minutes even with her assistance, I appreciated the effort and sincerity of the follow-up. It showed that management genuinely cared about our experience. In terms of food, it was well worth the patience. My children absolutely loved the ribs—though it's important to note they take extra time to prepare, so plan accordingly if you order them. The kitchen also deserves credit for its ability to accommodate gluten sensitivities without compromising flavor. My two personal favorites were the Baja fish tacos and the grilled tofu, both of which can be prepared gluten-free. These dishes were flavorful, fresh, and versatile enough to enjoy at either lunch or dinner. Overall, Blake's Bistro offers an excellent menu with delicious, thoughtful food. Just be prepared to linger a bit longer than you might expect, especially at lunchtime. The service recovery efforts by management were genuine and commendable, and the kitchen shines when it comes to taste. If you have the time, it's a dining experience worth savoring.

Our brunch links bistro was very good. My only issue is if you don't have your eggs made the scrambled that were on the buffet. We're a little cold. The grits were also very lumpy. If you were looking for brunch that has munchkin items. this one isn't good for you. It is mainly a breakfast buffet but again it was very good. I would go back.

Blake's never disappoints. Wide menu choices of delicious food with impeccable service and relaxing atmosphere. We love it!

We ended up here by chance. The food was very good. A bit over priced. The service was very slow. When we sat down we were 1 of 3 tables and it took a good 10 minutes to be greeted and get drinks ordered. Over all I think I would go back.

To preface, my entire lifelong career has been spent in the professional food service industry.

This was a good experience until the resort owners showed up with their dog ten minutes after our arrival. I understand ownership has its perks. But it is never okay to allow your dog and toddler run amuck around the restaurant and resort floors. And it’s even less okay to see a food service manager having to go get their loose dog to carry it back to the family multiple times. Not only is this highly against food handler rules and obligations of said food handlers, it’s against the law. And it’s obviously expectant of the owners that food managers babysit their child and dog. The entitlement was astounding. The shame ought to be huge, but I doubt there is any. It’s very likely this is normal behavior for them.
At the conclusion of our lunch, I spoke with the dog/baby sitter manager. When I brought this to her attention, she confirmed my suspicion that they were the owners of the resort. Wasn’t hard to figure out by their entitlement. She was apologetic. However, when I also pointed out that she never even washed her hands after carrying the filthy dog, her response was somewhat gross.
“But I haven’t touched anything!”
Will the health inspector accept that? NO!
And neither should any customer of that restaurant or resort.
The owners of the resort/restaurant should truly reevaluate their own behavior in their place of business. This isn’t appropriate in any way.
Owners and management should be extremely embarrassed by their behavior. And from the sound of it, that behavior won’t change. And likewise, neither will their entitlement.

Owners deserves an F-
Management deserves an F
Server deserves an A
Food quality deserves an A

Edit: and the potpourri aromatics through the resort is pretty gross too.

When the owners of the resort and restaurant think it's appropriate to have the restaurant manager chase their unleashed dog around the restaurant and carrying it back to the table with their toddler, I immediately know their standards of cleanliness are far below the minimum standard. The restaurant manager never washed her hands after picking up the dog several times either. When I called her out for this behavior, her exact words were "but I haven't touched anything!" Imagine what it is like behind the scenes if they behave this way in front of diners and guests of the resort. This is grossly negligent. The staff, especially the management and the owners of this resort need to go take a simple class at their health department to know how to not be disgusting. We will never come back to this resort or its restaurants.

Jerome was our server, very friendly and his appetizer recommendation was excellent. We had the blackened snapper and shrimp bites with onion strings and jalapeño rings for the appetizer and shared the wagyu burger with pastrami and sweet potato fries. Delicious. I had an old fashioned and Linda had a sunrise spritz.

We stayed at The San Luis in Galveston for a few days so we ended up eating at Blake's Bistro three times...breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their menu is eclectic with choices including sushi, Mexican, and American. The food was delicious and the service was awesome.

This place is fancy schmancy but the food is pretty bleh. Had the chicken and waffles and there just wasn’t much taste. The whiskey infused syrup tasted a lot like syrup and the honey something butter tasted a lot like butter. They even described the blackberries which turned out to be two. Overall, food was fine but quite expensive. Atmosphere is lovely. Don’t think we will be coming back.

Can’t speak to the food because we didn’t stay. We had reservations, walked in perfectly fine. You do have to pay for valet parking tho. My main issue is the overwhelming potpourri smell permeating through the entire hotel and restaurant. If you miss the way your grandmas house smelt 20 years ago this is the place for you! It was so strong my nose and eyes were watering after only 5 minutes. I can’t imagine eating and smelling that the entire time. Last time I checked you should be able to smell the food, not potpourri! Your sense of smell is incredibly important when it comes to tasting food, give your chef a fighting chance and turn off that potpourri. I’m going to spend almost $50 a person if I can’t smell or enjoy the dining experience.

Had reservations, had to wait over 1/2 hour (we did arrive early) people without reservations were being seated ahead of us. Our party was 2 people. Table of 4 was seated & group was incomplete the entire time we were there. Then we were seated where we could touch the very loud people next to us. Service at table-pancakes-no butter No drinks refilled. Been going to Blakes for over 5 years, never been so disappointed. Will continue to visit the Steakhouse.

Food and service were excellent at Blake's Bistro. Always a great experience and one of my favorite places on the island.
