Got asked to get up during the rush while waiting for our order right after we paid for it. Was given attitude and horrible looks while waiting in front of restaurant. Also asked for coffee menu and never received it. When another waitress asked if we wanted to sit our waitress told her don’t do it. When we finally got a waitress’s attention for a drink she walked off and said she was over it. I waited an hour and a half for two tacos.

Cute spot but severely understaffed resulting in crappy and very slow service. The food was decent. Didn’t get to try the coffee because they were backed up and also never received a coffee menu even though I asked a couple of times. Waitress was a little rude and made us get up from our table because we had to go orders even though we hadn’t gotten our orders yet and there was no one waiting to be seated. I understand the high stress situation of being understaffed but I think that was unnecessary.

Hughstons is definitely the new hotspot on Crystal Beach. The place itself encompasses the perfect casual beach eatery.
My breakfast bowl was delicious, everything was cooked perfectly. The coffee hit the spot and my waitress filled it up as fast as I could drink it. After breakfast I even took a cup out on the porch to enjoy the sun. (And write this review)
I enjoyed my meal so much I'm coming back for lunch! If you're staying in Crystal Beach and you want a wonderful meal at a reasonable price give Hughstons a try!!!

What an absolute gem of a place !!! If I lived on Bolivar Island, I eat at this place every single day! Sadly I don't! I am a tourist leaving to return to New Zealand! We were met with the warmest of welcomes, with genuine smiles by staff, seated without delay then offered a range of breakfast drinks as we waited for our order. The simple yet tastefully decorated decor, added to the ambience of the place. I ordered a substantial breakfast, which was cooked to perfection! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the interaction with the staff. This diner is the best as are the staff. So you lucky Bolivarians, and visitors, take a stroll down to Hughstons and enjoy a mouth watering meal!
