This was our second visit to the Landry's restaurant establishment in Galveston Island. I had the redfish dish blackened with etouffee on top and it was very good. My wife had a combination meal where she had a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was chicken and sausage gumbo I have to say that the gumbo was absolutely terrible. We had a similar experience with Landry's restaurant near Lafayette. The gumbo there was Even worse. It's really unfortunate that people who try gumbo and don't know how gumbo is supposed to taste was exposed to that dish. My wife and family and extended family all know how to cook gumbo and Mr fertitta really ought to get somebody else to make his gumbo for him and his restaurant.

It’s a no for me. For what I paid, the quality of food was subpar. To be blunt, the food tasted worse than Golden Corral. This place use to be literally the best place to dine in Galveston. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive , which is the only reason I gave three stars…but every other aspect of this place was HIGHLY disappointing. Wasn’t my first time here…but certainly will be my last.
I am a Landrys Select Member and love Willie Gs so made reservations 2 weeks in advance. We arrived at 625 for 630 reservations. We had to wait to find a section where There was a server "available ". At 650, a red faced young man ad osrd he was sorry but he just had to table of 13 "women". We placed an appetizer order of Oyster Bar Trash and ordered. We waited until 735. No food. The server apologized but there were just too many guests tonight. We got our dinner and the manager "comped" our appetizer. We left hungry and disappointed. Not the service I expect from Landry's. ?

Food portion were very small compared to the price. One plate got 4 asparagus while the other guests plate got only 2. Orders do not include sides like other returants, pick a side. Drink prices are way expensive. Service was slow and was told a 30 minute wait when tables were observed open. Not what I was expecting for a Landrys Restaurant.

The plates were dirty, and on the oysters plate was a baby cockroach on the wooden plate and did not even give us a refund.
