My family has been coming to Mario’s for years when we visit Galveston and I’m not sure what has change but last Sunday, the service was terrible and the food wasn’t as good as it usually is. We visit Galveston at least twice a year and Mario’s is always on our list of places to eat. The servers are usually the same and are always excellent but this time the usual servers weren’t there and I’m going to venture to say the chef was new as well because the salmon was raw in the middle and it usually is cooked to perfection, and the shrimp didn’t taste good either. We spoke to management after we were over charged $18 on salads and drinks and shared our concerns with him. He gave excuses that they were trying new fish as they get ready for summer, but the dishes we had were not new. He also said the server was new but someone in our party had this server before several months ago and experienced the same service. Besides correcting the bill, he did nothing to remedy the situation. When you pay $30 for a meal for one person, you expect a higher level of quality and service.

I've been going to Mario's Seawall restaurant since I moved to Galveston in 2012. Great food, good range in prices, affordable wine list, cheery staff. It's less than a quarter mile from my condo.Parking: Only one handicap space.

First time in Galveston and first time in this restaurant and it was awesome. After a long day on the read and the beach we wanted to have a good meal and we found this place. Good food, awesome service (Nico) and beautiful place. Will recommend it to friends and family for sure!

The bruschetta appetizer was so good! We had chicken alfredo, Chicken a la Mario, and the Chicago style deep dish Joey pizza and it was all so good! Great service as well. We enjoyed the view of the gulf as we dined. Highly recommend!!
