Amazing 7 course meal on New Year’s Eve. There were options for soup or salad. Lamb Pops or Fried green tomatoes w/lump crab. We had the best lamb pops ever. The rosemary was perfectly subtle. Then we had a choice of Red Snapper or the Filet with Cheese grits and green beans. The cheese grits were amazing. We had the filet and it was perfectly cooked. Then we had the choice of cheesecakes between New York or chocolate and we took the chocolate. Amazing flavor with a hint of espresso.The staff was very good and eager to please the guests.The chef is obviously very good, the wait staff is very good, the runners were acceptable and the atmosphere was well above average. We had a great time and enjoyed our New Year’s Eve champagne (Wycliff Brut).Very pleasant and wonderful time.

We waited 2.5 hours and got our salads but the mains never came. After waiting so long we had to cancel our orders and leave, still hungry. They didn't seem that busy judging from the number of open tables. When we asked to talk to a manager they said there was none on site, only the chef, and he refused to speak to us. I'm not one one to leave negative feedback, but it wasted so much of our time and leaft hungry after waiting so long.

NYE at Porch Cafe was a big disappointment and a much bigger bill than we were expecting. We've been here several times for happy hour...it's excellent...highly recommend. Dinner itself was good...but the prix fixe of $125 pp, which includes champagne that neither of us wanted, was an unpleasant surprise. I'm sure this was transparent to most people who made reservations there. But we had just booked thru OpenTable when our preexisting plans fell thru. Did not know what we were signing up for at all. Also, the service (which is usually just fine) was poor (and I think the kitchen was having trouble keeping up too). We'll definitely be back...but not for NYE. Again, definitely recommend for happy hour!

Galveston County Aggie Moms Club held their holiday luncheon & senior recognition luncheon here. Chef Sean and their amazing server Dorin blew it out of the water! Great service, delicious food and a perfect setting! Thank you for the fabulous experience. Wish we would've taken more photos of our food but we all devoured it so fast. Chef Sean's soups and berry salad.....omg is all I gotta say.

we had a fabulous brunch here on Sunday! Our party had the special which was loaded baked potato soup and a half caprese sandwich, the gumbo, french toast and eggs benedict. Food was full of flavor, served perfectly and timely! We will be back, Thank you!!
Shrimp & grits, the best ever. Bar drinks & wine list exceptional & fair priced. Bartender is the best. Our server was a student at Galveston A&M and was delightful. The special that night was red snapper with 2 grilled shrimp. Very big serving and excellent taste.
We love the Porch Cafe. Great location in beautiful Beachtown. Chef Sean always makes us feel special and owner Mr Sharzi and I'll always stop by to say hello. Very nice Happy Hour Thursday and Friday, Grapefruit Martini my favorite, Charred Orange Old Fashion for my husband.

We arrived about 10 min. Before 2:00 pm and they close at 3:00 we asked if we were to late to be seated young lady/hostess was so nice got us right to a table ,the n our lovely waitress came to take care of my wife and I .Got our drinks, food,and more drinks being we were the last table here there was absolutely no rush on there part.just a very nice lunch.PERFECT.Oh and the food was delicious!The manager/owner came to our table super friendly. We definitely will be back very soon.PS:great staff !

The place itself gorgeous first of all, the sun comes in so perfectly as the porch is shady and warm. The staff was so kind and inviting, we got there about thirty minutes before their open time (on accident) and the Chef welcomed us right in and said they were ready to cook anything! They could have asked us to come back when they were open but instead made us feel so comfortable. THE FOOD, was amazing from the perfectly cooked chicken and waffles (the chicken was so juicy and deliciously seasoned) to the SMOKED GOUDA JALAPEÑO GRITS (which I'm still daydreaming about three days later) to the delicious made in house desserts. Our server was absolutely professional and attentive, and again compliments to the Chef, everything was PERFECT. Thank you to the staff and we hope to make a trip again soon but I'd drive five hours for these grits any day.
