Edit: I expect your reply was only to appear to care about these reviews so future victims will think you fixed the issue, because I sent you an email with my info and never heard from you. We won't be back nor visit other Landry's properties.

My expectations were reserved. We were visiting on a Thursday in the middle of a cold spell so I expected things to be a little slow in a beach town in winter. This was our first time visiting with our grandson and his parents. The 5 of us were all smiles coming in. The decor and animitronics looked great and the staff was friendly. We placed our order and waited for the show. 40 minutes into our visit we had only seen a little lightening and thunder. We asked the waitress who said she would check, watched her say something to a manager. A few minutes later the animitronics finaly came to life and the gorilla behind me continued to move every few minutes. We never received an explanation so we could only assume it had been turned off and the manager went to flip a switch when we asked. Disappointing for the families with small kids who were there before us and left before they were turned on.
The drinks were good and the suevinier cups were great but I don't want anything to remind me of the food. 2 in our party had the jerk chicken and shrimp pasta. It was bland. Jerk chicken should never be bland. But they were the lucky ones. Two of us became ill after eating our meals. I had the pot roast. The sauce was flavorful but the meat was dry, gritty, and tasteless. Son in law had the brioche chicken and shrimp with a funny color. Grandson had pizza. He was able to eat the cheese topping but the crust was not cooked through and was still doughy inside.
The waitress never asked us if we needed to go boxes even though we still had a ton of food on the table. We didn't complain but I suspect they knew. We had planned to ride the river ride but changed our minds after the disappointing dinner. The worst part was not only did I drop over $200 on a very subpar meal, we also had to cut short our trip to see the lights at Moody Gardens because 2 of us were very sick.
I never leave reviews but I wanted to one others to not waste your money!

First called at approx noon to make a reservation. Got the run around and told first reservation is at 5pm. Went online and was able to make a 1:15pm reservation. Once there the restaurant was over 3/4 empty. My husband spoke to the manager to make her aware the person answering the phone is claiming no reservations.

The food was ok and the service was wonderful. Our server was Tony. He was a delight and did a wonderful job.

Fast forward to trying to purchase two tickets for the jungle ride. The cashier continued to say three tickets and ring up three. No, we only need two tickets. To say the least it was frustrating. I spoke with the manager regarding what transpired who was uninterested. Per the cashier I was rude and I feel like the cashier after being told three times I only need to purchase 2 tickets was purposely trying to upset me. No other way to explain it. The other employee standing near the cashier even said he only needs to purchase 2 tickets.

We are Landry Reward holders. This is our first visit to the Rainforest Cafe with our Grandchildren. We will NOT be back. We’ll also spread the word of our awful experience and the unqualified managers in hopes to save others from a bad experience. The place is not cheap. After this experience it makes perfect sense of why the restaurant was practically empty on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm.

Thank goodness there are lots of choices in Galveston to eat. Stay clear of Rainforest Cafe.

Robyn was our waitress! She was knowledgeable about the menu and company at large. There were three boys 4 and under at the table. She was personable and handled the madness like a pro. Great waitress!
