We have traveled the US and the world. One of the BEST Italian dinners we have ever had. A secret, a gem, and not to be missed when visiting historic Galveston Island. Our server, Ryan, was top shelf and we met the owner and head chef, Pina, who was in the kitchen serving up her craft. 5-stars in our book!
The food was great! My wife lived in Italy for several years. She said that it was the most authentic Italian food she has had in the United States. The service and atmosphere were top notch!
We absolutely always love Trattoria la Vigna! The food is amazing and the staff are always so professional - even though they are extremely busy. They make you feel like family.
All 4 of our meals were excellent. I'm a big Veal Marsala fan and this was one of the best I have ever had. My only issue with the restaurant was the temperature of the wines we ordered. The bottle of Pinot Noir was warm and I had to request a bucket of ice to cool it down before drinking. With the mark-ups on wine in restaurants, I expect the wine to be served at a proper temperature. My wife ordered a glass of chardonnay which she added ice cubes to. However, I still give this restaurant with its fresh pasta 5 stars. A must visit if you want Italian food in Galveston.
I took my dad here for a early Father's day dinner. This was our first time here and I was excited because of all of the good reviews. From the ambiance, wait staff and the amazing food I highly recommend Trattoria This is a cute little restaurant, so make sure you make a reservation.
Lovely food (homemade pasta!) in a cute little restaurant near the Galveston Strand. The owner stopped by every table to check on us all. A GREAT experience. We will definitely be back.
Excellent food! Delicious!
Excellent restaurant! One of the best Italian food I’ve ever had! I had zuppa di pesce and it was absolutely amazing! We were a group of 14 and everyone loved their dinner! It’s a must in Galveston! Service was great, a little slow but totally worth it!
Food was good our waitress was very forgetful but over all good.
Absolutely do not recommend anyone to go eat at this restaurant the worst experience ever I've not ever seen such plain rudeness from the waitstaff. Shame on this place to allow their waitstaff to pure disrespect their paying customers that could have taken their money elsewhere. My other half that's 84 having issues and very bad timing to.be treated with such disrespect .as the saying goes so true until you walk in someone's else, s shoes be careful were you step .young lady .your attitude will get you no where in this life it catches up.
Horrible Waitstaff at this Restaurant shame on this owner..we own a business as well.
Horrible place to eat.

Horrible service. Will never return. Made reservation through open table for 9:45pm. There was even a 10pm seating available. Arrive at restaurant early and we’re told they are closed. No apology. Said they didn’t care that we had reservations and kept saying we should have made them earlier! What difference does that make?! Then they proceeded to blame open table for accepting reservations later than what the restaurant accepts. Well maybe learn to program your reservations system. Last thing I’ll say - the chef owner who basically told the staff not to seat us - maybe comb your hair or use a hairnet! Gross.
Old-school Italian fine dining restaurant. Had calamari and a delicious meat lasagna...and was so full we couldn't fit in their popular cheesecake, so we'll have to go back again!
Favorite restaurant in Galveston. The food is fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that I ate too much and couldn't have my usual capachino and cannol after lunch.
It's a little tricky finding the entrance and navigating the one way streets and finding parking. But, don't let this discourage you, it's worth the slight hassle of seemingly constant construction and confusion of the one -way streets. You'll be rewarded when you arrive.
The food here is absolutely amazing. Probably the best Italian food on the entire island and easily the surrounding area as well. I had recommendations to this place from 3 different Italians and they all said it was like their mother made the food.
This restaurant has great reviews and sets up expectations. However the wait staff is sophomiric at best, they have no knowledge of the menu and are unable to explain basic items listed or details on the wine list. Ownership is culpable for the waitstaffs inability to translate positive reviews to actuality.
In conclusion I made the decision to no longer tip waitstaff anywhere, it's either great service for 15% or nothing at all. To dine out is way to expensive and I will no longer throw away my money.
If I'm going to pay premium prices, I want premium service
