We love Italian food, which we have experienced in several regions of Italy. We are also fans of the Sicilian-American food in our hometowns of Boston and New Orleans. In all instances, I appreciate that Italian food uses the best ingredients, often simply and skillfully prepared. Thus, we were disappointed when the special of the day was Chilean sea bass, especially when the bounty of the Gulf of Mexico was practically at the restaurant's doorstep. There is no lack of skill at Trattoria la Vigna, but the two main dishes we ordered (grouper piccata and veal marsala) were over the top, swimming in deep puddles of their respective sauces, served over a bed of pasta that became increasingly less al dente as it soaked in the liquid. For my taste, restraint would have made everything much better, and the pasta could have been more gently dressed and served on the side. The service was professional and friendly.
The food is always good, with daily specials added that are always different. It's beer/wine only, but with a good selection. It's definitely one of our “go to” places in Galveston!
Fabulous Bruscetta. 2nd time to have the Oslo Buccee's, the best ever. Desserts are homemade. Cannoli is the best!
Our favorite Italian in Galveston. Food is authentic Italian delicious. Never disappointed!
It's my favorite restaurant on the island. It's cozy and comfortable. The food is consistently good. The wait staff are the best!
We've come every year to La Vigne when in town for the Ironman race. The food is fantastic. Joel took great care of us (again). Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening!
The food was fresh, and authentic. Try the octopus appetizer!!!! Waitstaff was so nice and helpful with menu. Great wine selection. We will definitely be making this a regular dining choice.
I drove in from Houston to eat here with my friend to celebrate his birthday with his family. We showed confirmation of our reservation and after waiting 30 minutes, they told us they had not saved us a table and that their system is the reason for the issue. Sometimes people make mistakes, but the way their staff treated my wife and my friends son I was very disappointed in the way this was handled, and I would warn others to be careful when they make reservations here for important events. I was unhappy with the way we were treated. We ended up having to scramble and find dinner elsewhere for my friends birthday.

I drove in from Houston for my father’s birthday. We shared our confirmation number from open table they said they were too busy and couldn’t honor the reservation. I explained to them that we drove in from Houston for my father‘s birthday, but he asked me to leave and they were refused after making us wait 30 minutes to find a table. I was surprised by the lack of professionalism of the staff. They said to me it wasn’t their fault and they they could not help me. Super disappointing. Won’t come back. People make mistakes, but the way this was handled was unkind.

Anniversary dinner. The pasta was amazing!! Unfortunately, our waiter was working a large “birthday group” plus other tables so he was VERY busy. But we enjoyed experience!! The place is beautiful… reminds me of being in NOLA. Only issue is the place has horrible acoustics… =Loud! ❤️

Absolutely amazing Italian food. Our group got lasagna, shrimp ravioli, and chicken Marsala. Followed by cappuccino and espresso. I have food allergies and they were able to make my shrimp and veggies with no butter. The shrimp were perfection!!
Dietary restrictions: They easily worked around my dairy and egg allergies

Delightful find of an old school Italian restaurant tucked away in Galveston. Wide variety of Italian wines sold by the bottle. Food is delicious. The owner is kind and accommodating. Wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. I'm so happy my friends that live in Galveston made this suggestion for dinner. I would encourage you to make reservations.
Parking: Parking is a hassle The lot next door was having issues with their app accepting payment Saw a car almost get towed Fortunately the found the owner in the restaurant and got it resolved I suggest taking ride share
