Husband and I are visiting from out of state and are used to your typical Dunkin’ Donuts! The quiet and cozy atmosphere was inviting. The ladies at the cafe counter were extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful with deciding what coffee would be the best choice based on our preferences. I got a cafe au lait and my husband got a modified caramel macchiato and it was two of the best coffees we’ve ever had.

It was a Friday morning - early - heading to babysit- coming from Frisco heading to Richardson I actually missed the exit for Preston to go to one of my favorite coffee drive - thru. UGH! What was I thinking. Got off at the next exit pulled into a safe space and googled coffee near the address I was going. The regular Starbucks and Dunkin came up but closest to where I was going was 1418 coffee on Beltline- why not. So I drove down Beltline and there was a street sign 1418 coffee. ITS IN A CHURCH-- OK. Pulled in and it's the cutest most comfortable shop. It has tables, chairs couches, games. Anyway the barista helped me order. I asked what the most popular drink was and she made it perfectly. Thank goodness I didn't see the pastries when I ordered but when I did that little devil on my shoulder told me no- you are now running late and don't stand in line again. Anyway. The coffee was wonderful. The place is really cute to sit by yourself or with friends. Definitely heading there again.

Nice low key spot to grab a coffee in the area. A little hard to find since it shares the building with a church. Hard to ask for much more out of a local coffee joint honestly.

You're in Garland?!? Sweet! Just about every morning I walk from work to the Plano location. I can't say enough good things about you guys. I will be checking out this spot on my weekend runs! FYI, anyone new to this shop needs to try the Purple Haze. Good stuff!

From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with the warmest smiles and genuine hospitality. The atmosphere here is simply fantastic. It's cozy, inviting, and exudes a sense of community that is hard to find elsewhere. The decor is tastefully done, with comfortable seating arrangements, soft lighting, and a soothing color palette that instantly puts you at ease. Oh my, it's a heavenly experience! Their baristas are true artists, meticulously crafting each cup with care and precision. The aroma that fills the air as they expertly brew your chosen beverage is simply intoxicating. I'm a fan of their cappuccinos, and I must say, they have perfected the art of creating that velvety foam that makes every sip a delight. But it's not just about the coffee here. The menu offers a variety of delectable treats and snacks, perfect for those moments when you need a little something extra to satisfy your cravings. I highly recommend their pastries--they are always fresh, flavorful, and baked to perfection. What truly sets this coffee shop apart is the exceptional customer service. A much quieter and more relaxed place than the busier location in downtown Plano. The Plano location is a risk for me because sometimes I can't find anywhere to sit or just get stressed with the volume level and constant movement. At this Garland location, the music is a little lower and people chat in hushed tones so it has a very chill, calm feel. Also tons of seating and outlets! There is a side area with dining tables and a wall of floor to ceiling windows for natural light. Then the main room has that 1418 darker, cozy industrial vibe with 6 seating nooks with couches & comfy chairs & plush rugs. There are also a lot of small tables and dining tables with wooden chairs, and a long bar with stools. Loved the relaxed tone and the expansive space!Dietary restrictions: Decaf espresso! Both regular and gluten free bakery items.

If I could give 3 and a half stars, I would. Let me tell you about my experience.I went with my brother mid-Saturday morning. I ordered the Café au Lait , and my brother got the drip with some cream and sugar free vanilla syrup. When I left, I got an espresso to go, and a cold brew for the following day, but I did take a sip to write this review.Positives: Lovely coffee shop, the drip coffee is excellent, the cold brew is also excellent. I love how they sell fresh coffee beans with a roasted on date. Very comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They even let me sample the drip before purchasing. They had breakfast tacos from Taco Joint available, which I thought was pretty awesome. They also had a variety of baked goods.Not-so positives: My brother was charged for adding cream to his coffee, which we weren't expecting. The espresso I had was extremely sour. I am assuming it was under extracted. maybe the tamp wasn't firm enough, but it could be a number of other factors, like grind size or coffee to water ratio, or maybe the machine just needs cleaning.Unfortunately, the sour espresso is a big deal to me, as espresso is the main reason I go to coffee shops, and that is why the score I gave is low. Hopefully this was just a fluke, as I haven't seen that mentioned in other reviews. I am going to give the espresso another shot the next weekend, and I'll update this review if things turn out better. I really want to love this place!UPDATE: I made it back here to give this place another go, and just as I suspected, the espresso this time was excellent, so I have changed the score to 5 stars. The barista was just as kind and friendly as last time. I really enjoyed myself, definitely my favorite coffee shop in the area, and worth the trip.
