I'm sorry but dirty, gross, and incompetent isn't charming.
Great place to have a huge family meal, or just a few! Staff was very accommodating of our party of 10 people. If I could give them more stars **********! Thank you to the staff.

This spot serves delicious, comforting home-style cooking at great prices, with portions that are impressively large. The menu is extensive, offering something for everyone, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive. The décor is a bit aged, but it actually adds to the charm and cozy atmosphere. Overall, a fantastic place for hearty meals and great value.

as amazing! The vibe was so relaxing — I honestly wish more restaurants felt like this. I just realized it’s actually right down the street from my orthodontist by Fiesta. I’ve passed it so many times without even noticing it was there, but now that I know… I’ll definitely be back!

This little place has been open for a long time and has not change much inside. The food is pretty good, decently priced and good waiting service. It’s a few minutes from 635 and if you are driving by go there instead of the chain food. Good, comfort, and homey food. Sit and enjoy the food, it has enough parking space, easy in and out. It was $29 for two of us but the plates could easily feed 4.

Affordable home cooking. Been going for years. A lot of choices on the menu. My favorite are the fried mushrooms. Great entrees.
Absolutely love the food, staff and atmosphere. Their sweet tea is the best in the world to me.

The coffee was hot, the bacon was crisp, the over medium eggs were perfect, the French toast was thick, and the staff was kind and attentive. Great way to get the day started

We have been here like seven times within the past couple months and the breakfast is always good but service takes forever due to the cook, the waitress being too old to keep up or they are too chatty. Burgers are good if they have the right cook there that day but we had to let them know once that our burger was burnt and thin-in return we got free desert. The inside needs a major remodel. Everything is old dusty outdated and sticky. Seats worn out uncomfortable.

Me and my wife came up here a few weeks ago and the service was so slow. The waitress messed up or order. The manager apologized and didn't charge me for her food, no crap she didn't eat a bite of it because it wasn't what she ordered. I came back today and tried them again. I walked in the door a few minutes after 10am. Waitress is so slow, I ordered about 10:10. It was almost 11 when my food finally came out. Two tables had sat down around me while I waited and they got there food before me. I asked the waitress twice what was going on with my food. The hash browns were under cooked mush. The chicken fried steak was meh. I asked to talk to the manager but, he didn't want to come over to my table just looking at me stupid. I got up and went to register asked him why he didn't want to come talk to me. He said he was busy, even though we're just sitting there looking at each other from my table. I told him it took over 40 minutes for my food to come out. His response was well what did you order. I'm by myself, I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. What a stupid response. He just looked at my like I was being crazy. I told him I wasn't paying for anything and I was leaving. He told me that's good, get out! I've been going to this place since the 90's! I don't see how this place stays open. It can't just be us that have had experiences like this. It happened twice in a month. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone anymore. I just can't believe the way they acted about the whole situation!
Incase people thinking I'm exaggerating I'm adding text messages I sent to my wife while I'm at restaurant. She works at Mesquite Diner, I went there it was busy so I drove to Goldmine which is 17 minutes away from Mesquite Diner according to Google maps.
Edit: no response from owner, place is still terrible

I think this would be a good place to go. If you're not in a hurry and don't have other activities planned for afterwards, the food was good. My son had the catfish. My husband had the chili burger. My daughter-in-law had chicken strips. Grandson had the cutest little hamburger and I had the BLT all were very tasty
