This place has been here since 1965! That is saying a lot. The only way a restaurant stays around that long is if it’s serving good food that people like … and this place definitely is. They have a nice menu with good variety making it hard for me to decide. But my waitress helped me out with that. That’s one thing I noticed was the service. I didn’t have just one waitress. Think I had 4 different waitresses helping me while I was there. They all were extremely nice and very helpful. The food was good, better than your average breakfast. I’ll definitely go back there again! Highly recommend!

This was my first time here. My kids go to a great daycare about 2 blocks away. I pass by this place everyday and finally decided to stop by and check it out. It has a vintage look and feel inside. Not sure of the decade, but I think the memorabilia and wall decor is from the 30s to 50s era. Old coca-cola bottles caps and vintage signage. The service was great. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. And the food was fantastic. The Jim Favorite was delicious!

Sunday my wife and I went to Hubbard's. It was crowded, but we found a booth open and sat down. It was not cleaned and within a couple of minutes a young lady apologized, cleaned it and left menus. Another checked on us for drink orders, still another took our order, and another delivered it. As I watched these young ladies scurry about taking care of customers, I noticed that the entire process was built on first back to the food being prepared, deliver it, now. Our breakfast was tasty, fair priced and warm. The service was outstanding, so much so, I asked one of the young ladies, who hired them. She pointed at the manager, and realized, she had been one of the servers. What a great example she sets. None of these young ladies looked over 21 years old, but they had the poise and manners of seasoned professionals. If you want good solid diner food, served by an outstanding group, go to Hubbard's. This is from a 71 year old, former manager that knows a little about customer service.

We weren't impressed. Wait staff friendly but very slow service. Had to flag staff down to get missing food or cream for coffee. Coffee very weak. Food presentation was ok and that was the best part. Chicken breast boot tough although veggies were good. Tamales very thick but hardly no ingredients other than white masa. Omelet looked like it had been dropped before got on plate. Biscuit finally came out half way thru eating. Gravy watery no flavor. Forget dessert wasn't even offered. Coffee refills barely but had to ask for it. Building appeared clean. Prices decent. We saw a hamburger bet this was their specialty. It was big but unknown about taste. You seat yourself and have to take check and pay although noone tells you. Next time we will do waffle house.

Been coming to Hubbard's for nearly twenty five years, love the overall cafe's food. Everything is good, some times you just have to show up and get something to try because all home cooked meals are great!

Long time resident of Garland and have been here numerous times in the past. First time here in a couple of years. First off, I have to say the service was terrible compared to what this place used to be like. I understand that places are having a hard time hiring but cmon, man. This place has always been known for their outstanding service. The Rowlett location has them swarming over you and your coffee never gets cold. This morning, there were 4 tables and 2 servers. I only got 1 coffee refill and that was after my food came and she saw it was empty. Oversized biscuit was hard and dry as if it was at least a day old. Gravy was very thin and tasted like it came from a package. I hope they can get back to what made them popular in the first place.

My wife and I are regulars. Food is great, staff is even better. We love going for breakfast. It can get crowded, but staff does their best.

1130, busiest brunch time possible in a Sunday and Hubbard's kept it smooth. While we did have a bit of a wait, our harried server did not disappoint. (We had to ask if the servers were related, they aren't, just three long haired brunettes who "get that a lot. ")The meals are all large portions, almost all under $10, all come fresh and hot from the kitchen and all epitomise down home cooking.Coffee was a little disappointing, but they fill it constantly. Yay!Two drinks, two lunches, $27. $37 with tip.

Really disappointed this morning. Bacon tasted like it had been sitting in a grease pool, potatoes had no flavor and biscuit was hard. It was pretty bad, however their tamales are great.
