I don't like to leave a review like this, but my husband went out of his way to try to find a reputable bakery to buy a quality cake for my birthday. Once we took it out of the box the immediate reaction was that it was plain and looked like a target bakery cake. Then, when we all took our first bites (on camera with the intention of giving a video review on our tiktok shop page) we all had the same expression of disappointment and confusion. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Our taste buds first noticed it was full of preservatives (easily noticed by those who don't eat processed foods or preservatives regularly), as well as a strange random tinge of a berry flavor? Maybe cross contaminated flavors from cooking utensils or mixing attachments and bowls? The overall flavor was bland and we have bought $16 cakes at target that taste almost exactly the same, if not better. But this cake was $50. They had told my husband it was a fresh baked homemade cake and that was not true. There was zero indication in flavor or visuals that this was true. I wish we could get our money back so we can get a cake that tastes good and one that is worthy of a special occasion. I feel like we were cheated. I got a bland store bought cake that was overpriced and my husband feels like he failed when he really tried. That breaks my heart.
The two stars is for the bakery. They advertise some pretty technically difficult designs for cakes, and charge accordingly. I ordered a sheet birthday cake for $50 and it was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. The frosting was pure white, there were no sprinkles, the text was extremely off Center (literally on the left side of the cake) And a little crooked. For $50 I expect at least $.50 worth of sprinkles thrown over the top of it. The actual food they serve is great, and the pastries are great, the cake tasted good but the professional bakery is advertising well above their actual skill level.
This is the second time this has happened, we ordered the unicorn cake pictured on the website and it looks like the cake fails You see on the Internet.

I got a cake and I loved it! The marble flavor was delicious and the frosting was very yummy. The cake was nicely decorated just like I wanted. The employees are very friendly, respectful and helpful. The vibe and decor of the bakery is the cutest! Lots of green scenery. Will definitely be going back!

This review is only about the avocado toast I got today. The overall place is fine.
I’m used to getting avocado toast that is smashed and spread on the bread and the last time I came here they did just that so when I asked why mine came in slices I was told “this is how they do thing now.” This review isn't meant to put anyone down, it’s just about the consistency of the food. I actually enjoyed coming here for my avocado toast and this time around I’m actually disappointed. ☹️

Really cute place in a cute little downtown! I got a canoli and an iced matcha latte with white chocolate syrup. The canoli was delicious! But the matcha latte with the syrup was way too sweet. Still a good flavor, but they are definitely a bakery first! Love the inside too.

Need a cake made for a special event? Lathams Bakery understood the assignment! They went ABOVE AND BEYOND with my sis in laws bday cake and it was absolutely delicious! Cant recommend them enough!
