We were driving through downtown Plano, looking for an adventure, and ready for anything to come our way .. when Mama Vicky's caught our eye. This tiny restaurant had impressive reviews, so we decided to try them. This was a new style of food for us, so we tried several items from their menu. We ordered a Cubana sandwich, chicken Sope, pork Pupas, and a beef taco. Be prepared to wait a hot minute because they make everything from scratch, order per order. Everything was fresh and delicious. Authentic mexican food. What made it exceptionally delicious for us was taking the lettuce, tomato, feta pieces that fell on our plate, and adding that to our beef taco. Oh yum! TIP: There are only 3 handicap parking spaces across the street, no crosswalks nearby, and this is a very busy street! All 3 handicap spots were full when we arrived, and they were full when we left. TIP: Parking is a beast! Be prepared to circle the downtown Plano area and walk a few blocks, especially during busy times. TIP: There are only 7 tables inside. Two tables hold 6+ people, and the rest are 4 tops. No outside seating.

This place a was a little hole in the wall with excellent food. I'm just disappointed I only discovered it as I was moving out of the state. This would have been a regular spot for me!

So I was in the area and decided to finally try this place out! First of all, the customer service?? TOP TIER. Seriously, everyone was so kind, sweet and welcoming! I didn't have a huge appetite so I decided to get a bean, cheese, and pork papusa and an al pastor taco, with a handmade tortilla. When I tell y'all this was one of the best papusa's I've ever had?? OMG!! It was so fresh, soft, fluffy, bursting with cheese and so much flavor!! The taco was fantastic as well!! The Al Pastor was so well seasoned and the fresh tortilla was obviously the perfect touch!! Their salsas are also delicious too!! The green salsa has a little bit of a kick and the red salsa is very mild and delicious!! Also - the cabbage that came on the side for the papusa was also delicious!! Super fresh with the perfect amount of tang and crunch!! This place gets an absolute 10/10 for me!! Such a delightful hidden gem and a definite must try!!

We were in the Dallas area and stopped in Plano downtown and came across this local restaurant. It was lunch time so we stopped into this mom and pop restaurant that had a little cozy dining area. We both ordered the calado de Cameron’s. It comes with your choice of bread or tortillas. I chose bread and my husband chose tortillas. The bowl was huge and the seafood had a generous amount. I was surprised the bread was a whole loaf of torta bread buttered and toasted served warm, although it was a dollar extra I don’t mind because it was delicious with the soup. The yummy corn tortillas came with 3. A side plate came with lime, diced jalapeños, onions and cilantro for you to garnish. We bother finished our bowls and bread and tortillas. We would highly recommend this place.

Good tacos. Had Al pastor & barbacoa. Legit some of the best refried beans I’ve ever had. I ate that so fast like it was gelato. I think only one other spot I’ve been to makes refried beans as good as this (Tommy Tamale in Grapevine).Friendly staff and nice service. I’ve only been once but I’d definitely go back and try other items (I would be ordering the refried beans again, too).
