(Note: The sign outside says Golden City Restaurant, but this is the same place.)Friendly staff, calming atmosphere, affordable prices, generous portions, excellent food. I always go for the lunch special, since it's near where I work and the service is quick. I can't speak to how things are during other hours (and by reading some other reviews, it might not be as good), but if you get the General Tso's or Sweet & Sour Chicken lunch special, you won't be disappointed. Plus, if you dine in, you get soup as well, which is always nice (especially since they make a very good Egg Drop Soup).

The service is always excellent and very friendly! But, the food is inconsistent... sometimes it's over salted with salt or soy sauce. And, sometimes the chicken tastes old and off putting. I had the sweet and sour chicken, it was good but, the sweet sauce was not sweet. The atmosphere is great...we love going here and will always bank on getting a good meal and affordable price on our budget.

I've tried all Chinese food in Garland, May China Cafe easily is the best.Best staff, best service, best cooked, everything.Super nice people, unlike other places in the area.Other restaurants cook their foods in ways that leave them too gummy in texture and overly smothered in sweet sauces that are only added at the end of the process, which results in feeling like you're eating cake.May's cook their foods in a way that gets the sauces soaked into, which then don't need to be coated with sauce on top. Perfect.They have lunch specials during the week, and even the standard prices are very reasonable.Can't say enough good things about this place. For the price, you get a lot.

Very disappointed. Been eating hear for years and tonight's food was well below expectations. General tso chicken tasted like the chicken been under a hear lamp majority of the day. My crab Rangoons are pathetic, almost no filling. Might have to start looking for a new place.

This restaurant is a great place to eat and the service is excellent and the food is excellent as well. My family and I really enjoy the atmosphere we would rather drive 30 miles to eat here than to go right down the street to eat. So thanks for making us feel welcome. Lloyd Neal
