First time here today. The food is delicious. The rice plate with seven meats/egg is great. Nước mắm sauce was perfect blend of spicy, sweet, and saltiness. Broken rice tasted fresh and right texture where they split apart easily but not dry. Shrimp was tender and no off putting smell so probably fresh. Pork chops a bit dry. Probably due to thin cut, but the marinade on it saved it. Bì, nice texture and not too large chunks. Egg cake not smelly, tasted fresh. Tomato slice not green, thankful of that, because some other places give me green tomatoes. Very good overall. Will definitely return.

Such a bad service. I was looking at the menu and the owner stood next to me so loudly and spoke in viet which i dont even understand. The son was not even delivered the food to me and point my order and says ‘here is your order‘ food was okay but service here is so bad. Also, they will not welcome you.

Bad customer service ever! Bun Bo Hue is not good as I expected. Same as other restaurants nearby. I would not come back due to poor customer service.

I recently dined at Phương Nam, and overall, I had a positive experience. The atmosphere may be a bit outdated, but I actually enjoyed it because it brought me back to childhood memories of simpler times. It had a cozy and nostalgic vibe that made me feel comfortable. As a fan of Vietnamese cuisine, I ordered the bún bò Huế, and it did not disappoint. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the portions were generous. One thing that stood out to me was that they provided a variety of veggies that other restaurants usually don't include, which added freshness and crunch to the dish. It was a pleasant surprise.I also tried their spring rolls, but I have to admit, the dipping sauce was a bit disappointing. It was just hoisin with peanuts, and I was hoping for a more unique and flavorful sauce. Nevertheless, the spring rolls themselves were tasty and filled with fresh ingredients.Overall, I would recommend Phương Nam, especially if you're a fan of bún bò Huế or Vietnamese cuisine in general. The nostalgic atmosphere and generous portions of veggies make it a solid choice for a comforting meal. Just be prepared for a simple dipping sauce with the spring rolls.

I enjoyed my Bún bò Huế. The broth did lack some flavor, but it didn't bother me too much since there were various items to add to the soup. I loved how I was given separate plates of chopped-up chili peppers, sliced Chả (pork roll), and Mắm Ruốc (shrimp paste). I love how they already had chili oil on the table, so I didn't have to ask like most places I've been to. I'd give my meal a 4.5/5. If the broth had a bit of flavor, then it would be been a solid 5. My wife ordered Cơm Đặc Biệt Phương Nam. She said that it did come with all 7 items as it said, but the portions were equivalent to what would be paid less elsewhere. She let me know that for the same price, she would've gotten a more generous portion at a different restaurant. The flavor was there though, so she gives it a 4/5. She recommends only ordering this particular dish if you're craving it, but your money is better spent on the noodle soups here. Overall experience was a 4/5. Customer service was great. Waiter was very attentive to our table. I would definitely recommend this place. First place to offer more sides to the Bún bò Huế. I had fun with my dish.
