I took a couple of friends last week for our first time. One of the waitresses didn't speak English, but she was very sweet to call someone who did, and he made sure we were taken care of. He gave us some menu recommendations and explained what each dish was. We all very much enjoyed our food. I wasn't able to eat all of mine because it was too spicy (I'm a spice wimp), but my friend said hers wasn't spicy at all. I got the nopales (cactus) and pork, and she got the bean and cheese. It was a little challenging to find a dairy free option here, but they have me the option of no cheese on mine. I added a side of rice halfway through to tone down the spicy, and it was quite good. 😊

I walked into this place with no expectations. I just didn’t want to cook dinner for Luis tonight, so I figured I’d enlist some help 🤷‍♀️

I was greeted at the door by a smiling woman, who I later found out was the OWNER, immediately offering to help me out. I told her I didn’t want to cook dinner and asked her to pick something out for my husband 😜

Wow! Did she ever! Luis was totally impressed and loved every bite! He said the beans had lots of flavor, the rice was good and tasty. And the meat was awesome because it had great seasoning with a touch of lemon 🍋

I’d say he was impressed and that’s what matters to me!

Food is great. Service is great. Parking kinda sucks when they’re busy, but this place feels like a true Tia’s kitchen when you walk in since you can see the ladies cook. We will be back.

As soon as you walk into Tia’s, you are captured by the delicious aroma of expertly made home-dishes. This is food made with heart and passion. It’s well worth the visit for a crunchy quesadilla, tasty carne asada, and a cold Mexican Coke.

If you don't speak Spanish don't go here. Waitress had to get a customer to assist with order until the owner showed up. I felt bad for her. The chips and salsa can say a lot about a restaurant and the chips were awful and the salsa was so so. The chips were like old masa overcooked and the size of a Frito corn chip.very brown like burnt grease...flautas were hard and over cooked, beans ok.it was pricey for just a lunch. It's in Garland tho guess rent is high.

Tia’s Kitchen is the kind of place you stumble upon once and then can’t stop coming back to. The food here is authentic and made with soul, you can taste the love and tradition in every bite. The tortillas aren’t store-bought; they’re made from scratch, and that alone tells you you’re in for something special.

Prices are more than reasonable, especially considering the quality. For a small spot, it can get packed fast, but that’s just proof it’s good. Sure, parking is tight, but the moment you walk inside, all that melts away. You’re instantly focused on the food in front of you and the people you’re sharing it with.

Tia’s Kitchen is more than a meal, it’s an experience, and one that feels like home.

Small location with authentic delicious food. The staff is always welcoming and their prices are unbeatable. If you're in the area, I highly recommend that you stop by and give them a try.

Very good food made from scratch! The enchiladas are very good. The chilaquiles were also great. If you want to make additions or have questions about your food they can make it to the way you like it.

Delicious food literally made from scratch as you order. When I ordered a side of pico de gallo I didn’t expect one of the cooks to literally bust out tomato, onion, and jalapeño and start chopping. Delicious food that they don’t mind customizing within reason. Good meats, good veggies, delicious beans and rice. The roasted salsa is elite. Good stuff. My partner and I will definitely be coming back.
