The food was pretty good. I had the catfish mashed potatoes and beans. The fish came out very hot which was nice. The one thing I can say is they have the best service I have had in a long time at any restaurant. All of the employees here were very friendly and offering to fill drinks every few minutes.

We stopped by The Feed Mill after my son’s dental appointment at Acre Wood Dental – Gatesville, and it turned out to be the perfect little reward for him. The place has that warm, hometown atmosphere—nothing rushed, nothing loud—just good food and friendly faces. My kid was excited from the moment we walked in. He ordered the chicken tenders (his go-to), and I went for the brisket sandwich. Both plates came out fresh and hearty, and the staff even checked in to make sure everything was just right. It was a small gesture, but it made the outing feel special for him after a morning he wasn’t exactly looking forward to.

Was my first Time Through Gatesville Tx and this was top recommended and I see why! Service was sweet, duration was short, and the catfish is the best I've ever had! My teens loved their dishes, my daughter had a salad that was great portion size for a large salad, and my son got the burger which he said was better than most he's had! We are definitely coming back and recommending!

Great lunch special for 8 dollars you can get a cheeseburger with fries. Pretty rare to find such a great deal these days. The staff are always extremely friendly!

Stopped in a drive home after a weekend camping. Wanted a burger and this was one of the highest rated places in town. It was very busy on a Sunday after church but we were seated immediately and our drinks were brought quickly.
It took about 10 minutes for them to take our order but they stopped by a couple of time to apologize for the delay. As I said, it was after church and it looked like several tables came in at once.
Once we ordered our food was delivered quickly. We had standard cheese burgers and onion rings. The burgers were perfectly cooked and seasoned! The onion rings were hand cut and battered. Everything was delicious.
Before leaving, we chatted with owner about the history of the building. She said almost everything is made homemade, meat is ground in house in for the burgers, and steaks are cut in house.
Overall, this was a great stop. After many trips thru Gatesville, we never knew this was here. We will definitely be back.
