I wish I could live forever at Catfish Parlour. And I would like to give the atmosphere a 10 star rating!!! The service and staff were so easy going and the food was great, delicious...mouth waters just thinking about it. I'm from out of town and can hardly wait to get back there. Are we there yet??

Second time Catfish Parlor really messed up my order. This time we were shorted the tartar sauce. Had to resort to Long John Silver's tartar. People make sure to check your order before leaving.

Late lunch. Excellent service. Yummy cornbread sticks with sauces. Fried catfish was good on a bed of okra. Cabbage and squash were both in buttered water and quite good.

Loved this place but last few times I visited, the staff wasn't very hygienic. Saw people behind line touch their faces and food, picking ears and such. They've also raised the price to a ridiculous amount for the all you can eat catfish.

Our first visit. We arrived at 5 pm on a Monday and there was only 5 other tables present. I think we beat the rush!
PROS
All portions are large so be prepared to take some home!
Everything was cooked very well and served hot!
The staff was nice and friendly.
The atmosphere was casual and nice.
They do offer a discount to military.
FISH: The regular fried catfish was cooked to perfection! We really enjoyed the flavor.
SIDES:
1. The fried okra was cooked just right and enjoyed by us both. I was told that they cut the okra and batter on site.
2. The Steamed Cabage is not steamed. It is boiled and seasoned just like most southern mama's cook it and it's good! Don't know why the menu said steamed?
3. Pinto bean's were fully cooked and hot. Seasoned well.
4. The green beans were also cooked and seasoned well.
5. Mashed potatoes are good and made from cooked potatoes and not instant. I was told they cut their own potatoes for the fries, too.
CONS:
ICE TEA: The ice tea was way too weak and probably the weakest I've ever had in a Texas restaurant! It tasted more like water than tea. I told the young waitress when she brought me a second glass and it was the same. I could see other pitchers sitting around and that tea was much darker. I believe someone ran hot water through the last batch of tea leaves a second time. I stated so and ordered a soft drink. I don't think anyone tried to resolve the tea issue.
For dessert we both ordered the key lime pie. We were told it was made on site, so we had to try. It to was very good. It wasn't green like most you get that is artificially colored. This was more like if you made it at home.
We will be back again.

Second time eating at this location, second time everyone who ate with us spent the whole night being extremely sick.

Definitely not the CfP I remember, where everything tasted fresh and clean. Everything we ate this time had the patina of food sitting in warming trays for a long time before being served. Things that were supposed to be crisp were tough and things that were supposed to be tender were soggy. I definitely couldn't recommend this to anyone in good conscience. If the food was just poor quality, that would be one thing. But literally making everyone we dined with sick all evening following dinner is an absolute no go.

Had the All American Plate with three sides, my wife got the blackening Catfish with two sides. It was delicious! Highly recommend this spot. ?

The restaurant? It’s an easy going, old world looking establishment kitted for both large groups and couples. Fair enough, however, worth noting: It’s new menu addition Fish & Chips. This is a 5 star tasty meal, world class, exceptional value. It delivers on white fish flakes, superb but subtle taste, the batter is not oily and also not overdone or overpowering. I have eaten F&Cs throughout the world, and Catfish Parlour F&C makes the grade of World Class “A”.
