Horrible take out service. got chicken strips, absolutely the worst,have a better ones from a gas station at 1am. only one was edible due to the other 3 being melted into the Styrofoam.

Wonderful food and fast service. Only issue was not sure where to sit when entering restaurant and others who arrived after me just went around and found empty table and took it. So I guess 4 future reference grab any vacant table you see. Can't beat the value of the food.

The place was crowded. Definitely a staple for locals they all seemed to know each other felt like family. Service was good. Food was pretty good. Tea was very good. If you enjoy watching people and cowboys this will be fun.
First time visit as I was passing through. Humble restaurant, decent food, surprisingly okay salad bar for a small town; it actually had fresh spinach available. I'm a salad snob so when it comes to traveling through small towns, eating healthy while on the road is super hard. I'll stop here next time I'm in town.

The Cow Palace always had great Texas home cooking. I have never been disappointed in the food or service .This place is a classic Texas dinner. The chicken fried steak is amazing, and so are the steaks.
I have driven through Gonzales hundreds of times and never knew this restaurant existed. That is until last Sunday. Met family to return grandchildren. The place was packed, good sign of tasty food. I was quite surprised with the low prices on the menu. The service was very good. There was a salad bar, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, they closed at 2 and we arrived about 1:10. When I went to get my salad it was pretty well picked over and since it was almost closing time, no one was interested in stocking. I get it. The meals were tasty and the place had that community spirit. Will absolutely try it again.

We both had chicken fried steak with fries. I'm used to the steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, but it is what it is. The steak and fries were delicious and surprisingly, the little salad bar was very fresh and delicious. The two meals with iced tea was $32. I would go again if I'm hungry around Gonzales. It was definitely alot better than the nearby Bucees.
