If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, Gonzales Bistro is a local gem that offers a taste of chef-cooked meals with exceptional attention to detail. The dishes here come with a price, but you get what you pay for—each plate is carefully crafted by skilled chefs, delivering a culinary experience that rivals some of the best restaurants around.
The drink selection is impressive, and I was thrilled to find one of my all-time favorites—La Fin du Monde, a strong and flavorful beer that's usually only available in Canada or Vegas. It was to see the selection of drinks that really elevated the whole dining experience.
Having dined at several Gordon Ramsay restaurants, I can confidently say that Gonzales Bistro holds its own. It's the perfect place to enjoy a special meal whether it’s for date night, a birthday, or an anniversary. The atmosphere is intimate and the meals are elevated, making it ideal for those special occasions. But even if you're just looking for a night out with great food and drinks, this place still delivers.
If you’ve never had a chef-prepared meal, this is definitely the place to experience it.

Great experience. World class bistro and wine list. Encourage everyone to experience this small town - big city restaurant.
They used to play nice Jazz and Bossa Nova music in the background that fit the ambiance perfectly. Last night we spent the entire evening listening to up tempo Indian music that became irritating and tense.

my husband and I went there last night for New Years eve for dinner. we waited an hour and a half for our meal and still didn't get it. our waitress was so nice. We'd love her, but but another waitress disrespected her right in front of us for the whole restaurant to hear. we were appalled at that. That's not how you act when you are a waitress or work with customers. she would walk around with a mean look on her face, never talk to anybody, right? But it was able to talk to our waitress with disrespect, great job.
I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! It’s my absolute favorite in town and I’ve never been disappointed in a single meal. Whether I’m there with friends, family, or for brunch with the girls, it’s always a perfect experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everything on the menu is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
Terrible treatment of staff by ‘chef’, if you can call him that. Food ok.

Highly recommend. Octopus in Peruvian ceviche broth, baked Brie with Serrano ham, tarragon escargot, chicken fried antelope, shrimp and crab risotto. All the food was excellent and the service was incredible. We've eaten here a number of times and never been disappointed.
I changed my service rating because of Maddie’s incredible attention on 07/26/2024

The service and food were wonderful. The music a little too loud when you're trying to hear your server talk about the day's specials. The cocktails were great. It's pricey.

As usual, food and service were great. Staff was super friendly as always. My only complaint is that the music is too loud. Had a hard time hearing each other as well as the waitress because of it.
We love this place so much! So I feel compelled to write a review. Last night we ate at the Bistro and it was very nicely packed. Which we love to see that they are getting the recognition they deserve. The only thing that was off was the food. It just wasn't what it usually is, seemed rather rushed. Other than that, it will not hinder my opinion of how good this place is.
What a hidden treasure! I've never had such great food and service - and I eat out a lot (I live in Houston). The personality of the Bistro comes out the minute you walk in. Warm greeting and people know your name. The decor is so authentic and comfortable. I grew up in Gonzales and remember the businesses that were here. The Bistro has preserved the beauty of the old with splashes of new. The food! my husband had the special NY strip; i had the striped bass and prawns. Unique and compelling presentation and delicious down to the last bite. The Bistro is worth the drive to Gonzales from anywhere! Compliments to the Chef and Team!
What a wonderful meal. Lovely atmosphere with music low enough to allow conversation. Well made cocktails, exceptional food and good wines by the glass. We had soup, watermelon salad, Cajun steak and a special Thai curry fish. Plus Creme Brulee. Plan to return to the area in the fall and go again.
Such a treat to spend an evening enjoying beautifully crafted cuisine in a bistro setting. My friend and I started with the bacon-topped Brussel sprouts appetizer with creative cocktails, followed with each of us getting a special entree, melt-in-your-mouth Beef Bourguignon. It was served with a deeply developed wine reduction, savory mashed potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms. This slowed the conversation way down in order to fully enjoy each bite. Not being able to finish the large portions, we had them boxed up and somehow found room to finish the dinner off with a rich espresso caramel cheesecake and a crème brûlée along with perfectly brewed Darjeeling tea. Service and meal was so memorable, that I am already deciding when I can go back. Great value for the ambience, service, and consistently delicious food.
