We always have dinner here when we're in town. The wait staff is so knowledgeable and informative. Food is awesome. A bit pricey, but well worth it.
What is there to really say? The food is always fresh, it's always incredible, and it's incomparable to anything you'll find remotely close to Gonzales. Can't say enough good things about every meal I've ever had here.
Love, Love, Love this restaurant! An absolute gem in Gonzales. From the sweet and friendly lady that seats you, to Ron our favorite waiter who always brings the best made drinks from the bar and always has fabulous dinner suggestions. Everything is always so fresh and delicious! 5 stars is just not enough!
Incredible food and service! Hidden gem in Gonzales that we will visit again. I am dairy-free, and they easily accommodated my dietary needs. Everyone at our table ordered a different entree, and every dish was fantastic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to the Bistro! Great food and excellent service, especially from Reggie, Mattie and Beth (very friendly hostess). We will definitely go back.
We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and still got seated upon arrival which was nice. Our waitress took a little longer than we'd like to come and introduce herself and get our drink order. We did have the hostess provide water upon seating us though. Our waitress then came back and told us the specials, however not before taking our appetizer order, which was for queso with shrimp in it. It was pretty tasty, just a little runnier than we'd like. Our drinks, the jalapeno rita and the Gonzales Mule were on point! They had a little bite to them with the jalapeno, but not too spicy! My husband got the special, filet with the oscar topping on a bed of mashed potatoes with asparagus. It was good he said. I got the NY Strip on the grits with roasted veggies. It was delicious, however it was room temperature when it got to the table. I am not one for sending food back, so I ate what I wanted. The table next to us also had an issue with the woman's fish filet being too cold. They took her meal off their ticket. Overall, it was a good experience and the staff was nice. We will try it again for sure. The menu is a little upscale as are some of the prices, but the ambiance is a little hard to figure out.
Even with a very large group that was there before ours, we had very attentive server. She was great.
The food was wonderful. Our server was great. My only suggestion is when the restaurant gets full or close to full the music needs to be turned down. Between the talking and the music it is too loud.
Very large portions and expertly seasoned food, true French cuisine. Service was amazing and servers were very knowledgeable on menu selections. Worth the hour drive.
Best place for fine dinning. Chef is incredible and very personable. He puts his heart and soul into his food and you can taste it. I've dined all over the world and this is one of my favorite restaurants.

What a gem in historic Gonzales, Texas! Great atmosphere, feels very high end, and the service to match. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was delicious, shrimp perfectly cooked, sausage with just a little color to them, and the sauce was balanced with a nice bit of spiciness, but not overpowering. I’d highly recommend - the only reason this review is a 4 and not a 5 is because the plate was very sloppily presented. The kitchen staff obviously put a lot of effort into the dish because it was delicious. But at the end, they just slopped it on a plate, haphazardly added some very wilted salad greens and sent it out. In lots of more casual places, presentation isn’t a big deal, but for what they’re going for here, they should step up the game. Wouldn’t take much for this little gem to be over the top awesome.

We have been going to Gonzales Bistro since it came to town. We are so lucky to have such a nice restraunt come to town. The food is always incredible! Great menu! Staff are amazing! If we want to go out to eat....that's where we go!
The wait staff is very knowledgeable and thorough. The food and drinks were delicious! Can't wait to go back!
The focaccia appetizer was very good. I had the antelope medallions with roasted potatoes and it was delicious. The cheesecake was okay, but not special.
