I love this place! The wife and I took the Texas Independence Trail on our way to the coast and this was our first stop for lunch. Super friendly service, a true Texas bbq joint with a cozy atmosphere. Lots of rustic wood and rusted metal interior and photos on the walls. Best brisket sandwich I've had in a long time! My wife got 3 sides and they were all home made quality. This is definitely our #1 spot in town and we will be back every time we go to the coast!

The last time I ate here was 7-8 years ago and I remember it being excellent. Decided to stop by yesterday since we were in the area. The potato salad and beans/rice were good as expected. The sausage was ok, a bit on the mushy side. The brisket however was a total failure- it did not look like it had been trimmed prior to smoking and the flavor reflected that. We ordered half lean half fatty. The lean was dry and the fatty side was nearly inedible there was so much fat. Not marbled meat, just fat. It was the worst brisket I’ve ever had.
