Awesome breakfast for a reasonable price in an old, charm filled building. This place takes the style of an old mom and pop diner and combines it with the old-time charm of downtown Granbury for an excellent experience all around. It's our new go-to for the Square.

This is an awesome place for breakfast. We love to take visitors here for a taste of Granbury ambiance.

This place is terrible. You’ll never be as great as the Nutshell was. Just move back to wherever you came from and stop trying to change the old ways. We now just drive to Glen Rose and eat at the Big Cup Eatery

The Square Cafe? 42 years it was the Nutshell. The new owners changed the name to the Square cafe. Google brought us to the place. We were looking for direction to the nutshell as that is what showed on our exploration on maps. The staff was friendly. The food was home cooking! It was very delicious! The history is so very interesting. Come in sit a while and ask. The pictures tell the story of the food.

This restaurant is now known as the Square Cafe. We met the owner a few days ago and learned they have gluten free bread available. We stopped by for lunch on Father's Day and the restaurant was packed. Despite the full restaurant our food came in about 15 minutes - and I could see that meals came steadily from the kitchen. Guests place their order at the counter and have a seat. A server brings the food to your table, calling your name, when it is ready. This works well because the dining room is small. Even so, we had no problem finding a table and it appeared that everyone who came in was able to find a table as well. I had the avocado toast with shrimp, which was excellent. Every item on the plate was perfectly cooked and at the appropriate temperature. My wife had the bananas foster french toast, made with gluten free bread, which she enjoyed as well.

Dated restaurant with food that is average at best. The good: Great location with nostalgic perspective. The bad: Food was greasy, over cooked, and dessert from display is not fresh. I had the lunch special. The service was slow, and indifferent. Furniture was older the entire restaurant has a dirty feel. Conclusion: Uninspired meals, staff, and restaurant that should be visited only as a last resort.

Terrible. Ordered a salad and the plate was dirty. Tables were all dirty and not wiped down. Service wasn’t very friendly either. I don’t recommend this place.

What a wonderful, old fashioned cafe. It took me back to when I was a kid and we would frequent a similar eatery. The burgers, fries and chips were great! The pies and pastries looked wonderful but we were too full to partake. Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was warm. Great coffee!

My husband and I put a order on grub hub. We made a mistake and we thought it was for delivery but we didn't realize it was for pickup until we had already placed the order. We called the restaurant to find out if it was for pickup or delivery. We talked to a lady name Kristy is who we talked to we told the situation and wanted to know if it was for pick up or delivery. She said she didn't know. She was very rude to us. We told her to cancel the order. We asked her how do we get a refund she said thur grub. This women Kristy is very rude. And in my opinion lazy cause she basically refused to find out anything about our order. Very poor customer service. This was going to be the our very first time to be try this restaurant. We will not be returning as customers.
