The kitchen is less than accommodating. I was looking forward to a good burger. Don’t order that. It was hand patties, but zero flavor. Not seasoned and over cooked. Asked for grilled onion, they don’t do that. Asked for some thin onion as the ones sent were the width of my thumb, they handed me a knife. The server was sweet and full of energy! But the kitchen was rude and if that was an owner? They should hire.

Went for drinks with the girls all of ours first time there. We had a great time sitting, talking, and drinking. Great little place. The atmosphere is welcoming just wish the inside had more seating for bigger parties.

With our busy schedules, we don’t often get the chance to go out and enjoy a nice meal — but when we do, The Pub at McDonough is always at the top of our list! Yesterday, we treated ourselves to their shepherd’s pie and classic fish & chips, and of course couldn’t resist sharing a slice of their decadent chocolate cake. Everything was absolutely delicious (as always) and the service was second to none. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and one of the biggest reasons this place has become one of our favorite hangouts. They truly never disappoint! 🍻

I've spent my fair share of time at pubs across Ireland and this pub is by far the most authentic Irish pub in Texas. A proper Guinness pour, fantastic fish and chips, an excellent Sunday fry up, and authentic decor. They even have 3 snugs and a wood burning fireplace. I live 2 hours away but I'll be returning for weekends in Granbury just to pay a visit. I highly recommend!

I wish I could recommend this place. It’s definitely not family friendly, at least not for small children. I know it’s a ‘pub,’ so this is understandable. The Irish theme is definitely present: Irish music, beer, food, and decor. But even the bad things like it being small, cramped, and uncomfortable are obvious. This is clear because of all the signs that say you can’t move tables. I wonder why people would want to move tables so often that they had to put up at least a dozen signs. We moved anyway. I even overheard a waitress say, ‘Yeah, those stools suck,’ as a guy moved to a chair that just became available.

Talking about signs, this place is littered with tons of ‘smart,’ non funny signs, presumably about what prior patrons did. There’s a sign about how the food service was slow and another about how people don’t know how to use door latches in the bathrooms. This just shows the lack of class of the management at this place. Maybe people have eaten at restaurants just like yours and have gotten service not as slow as yours, and maybe your latches just don’t work and need to be fixed. There’s no reason to put up a sign about it. It seems criticism is taken right to heart here.

We didn’t even experience slow service. It wouldn’t have even been a thought if it wasn’t for another sign to read.

The food was okay at best. The drinks were great. One of their ‘funny’ signs said, ‘This is McDoughs, not McDonald’s,’ but I’d recommend eating at McDonald’s before you go. So, my recommendation is, if you want to get some drinks after you’ve eaten, this place might work. Try to get a seat at the bar, though; your back will thank you.

A great place to relax and meet new friends. The atmosphere is traditional Irish pub, with a large beverage selection. Food is excellent, try the Irish taco!

The Irish taco is one of my FAVORITE meals, it is so good. We love this place! Feels like a traditional Irish pub, not just a cheesy name for a normal bar. Great drinks, great service, cozy atmosphere.

We tried this for the first time and had a great experience! Service was great-our waitress was super attentive and friendly. We didn’t realize the kitchen closed at 8 (they were very gracious even though we were there a little bit before then and ordered food.)
We also ordered dessert (brown sugar pound cake which was delicious!)
We will be back sometime to hear live music and order drinks. Also have to mention how nice and clean the restrooms were!
