I am originally from Veracruz, Mexico; and I can confidently say that this Veracruzan restaurant is very authentic!! Authentic foods/plates, flavors, and looks. The service is very friendly, the place is clean, and the prices are reasonable. The food actually looks like the pictures ?

One my my favorite spots for lunch. The food is ALWAYS good and consistent. Fast and friendly service. I see why Dallas Observer continually ranks them high on their places to eat.

I went to the G.P. Resturant and had the Enchiladas de Mole Veracruzanas with Pastor de Puerco. Holy mother, it was fantastic! The meat was so soft, marinated to perfection, and packed a powewrful flavor in every bite. The element of authenticity was definitely there. The person who prepared the mole knows what they're doing. Bravo! My only recommendation is to serve it with chicken instead of Pastor de puerco because the mole sauce and the meat do not compliment eachother. But again, that's my personal preference. I also tried their picaditas. I'm not from Veracruz so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that picaditas are basically sopes topped with a heavy serving of their salsas and queso fresco. They make delicious appeteizers. They were a bit spicy for my taste but my favorite was the mole ones. Next time, I think I'll just order the mole ones. But I think they could make a good 'Pick-me-up" snack with a cold beer. Yum! I sampled the pork tamales but they were less than memorable. I have to say I won't be having those again. Overall, very happy with their food. I plan to try their consome de birria next time. Yum!
