Food is always good. I had a small portion left that I wanted to take home and asked for a togo container, as I would pay for it, thinking it would be a dollar or 2 at most as I was taking only filled up the small part of a doggy bag. When the check came it was $8 dollars for the to go box. I was shocked. I didn't go back and get more which I should have. I paid more than 25 for 1 plate of food. Kind of off putting. I've been here a bunch and come once a week, but $8 for a togo box for something that would have been thrown away instead is bonkers.

The original Ton's, it's been here for years & I believe has been run by the same people with several long term staff members. The staff has always been kind from the minute you walk in the door whether they are wait staff or cooks, always courteous.

It can get busy here but they are efficient! If you've never had Mongolian grill you basically put all your food in a bowl (here you use two) - proteins, veggies, noodles, sauce, & cook it all together on a large grill at the end. You can ask them to make you fried rice at the grill too, just eggs & soy sauce or to use it as the base of your meal if you don't want noodles. If you want an egg, ask when they take your bowls to start grilling your food. Hot & sour or egg drop soup are available if you'd like & you can order some white rice with your meal if preferred. Ice cream is available for a sweet treat at the end. All these things are included in your meal.

Sometimes the area where you get all your ingredients can be messy. It's hard to control the mess people make, especially with the sauces but we came at a slow time where no one had been in front of us & oil was all across the counter. Sometimes the floor can get greasy too in the same area. Like I said, it's been around for awhile, it's a little run down but the quality of food is still good. It's truly a staple in Grand Prairie, don't miss out!

This is my honest review. I'm a vegetarian and I fast every other day. The day I visited Ton's was an eating day. I was hungry. I walked in and the sewage smell blew me away. The smell of sewage filled the air. I thought I was in the twilight zone because there were lots of people eating and having a good time. I know they smelled it too. The smell isn't faint - it's powerful. I couldn't believe all of those people were ignoring the smell and willing to eat the food regardless. I left. That was six weeks ago. I'm in town again and I Googled mongolian grills near me. These reviews are confirmation that I'm not the only one who lost their appetite due to the sewage smell as soon as you walk in.

I enjoyed the food, and it was great for the price point since it was all you can eat. They have all the seasoning sauces at the end, so you add it into your bowl before you asked them to cook it at the grill. Make sure to tell them if you want an egg or two or rice before the cooks start grilling. Your entry fee also include egg drop soup and ice cream at the end. I didn’t like the egg drop soup. I saw that people were complaining about the smell in other reviews, but I didn’t smell anything bad when I visited.

You walk in the door, and the smell is awful. Combination of food and sewage. Bathrooms are very dirty and a bad smell from the sewer. Honestly, the place needs to get that sewer problem fixed and fast. The food is very good, just have to fight through the smell.

I walked in this place and I immediately walked out. I was not gonna let my family get sick from this nasty food. The place smell like somebody’s dirty behind. This place needs to be closed down.

Tons is an amazing local restaurant with fantastic food at a great price. My boyfriend and I regularly order to go and are able to get 2-3 meals from each order. The staff is kind, fair, and always working. We will support this restaurant as long as it is in business!!

I had a blast! me, my mom, and my sister all came here for lunch and it was magical. The service was phenominal and friendly, even with the language barrier. It was also like 15 bucks for (if you're commited) virtually infinite food. I see a lot of reviews saying that the food wasnt tasty, but it's a mongolian buffet, my brother in christ, YOU made the food. They had fun little table mat that told you what chinese zodiac you are, and i learned im a rat, which explains some things. 9/10 would reccomend. I would lay down my life for this restaurant.
