Was finally able to visit Zavala’s for lunch & wish it would’ve been better as a local. BBQ was all under seasoned. Sausages lacked snap. Brisket was cooked well, pork ribs were tender & fell off the bone BUT IT tasted like nothing. Odd thing was I found the sides (cheesy jalapeño hominy & spicy cole slaw) were mostly seasoned with a heavy hand (minus the pops beans) & would recommend those over the actually bbq. Unfortunately will have to continue driving a bit further out of GP for good bbq.

Went to the Cinco de Mayo parade and hit this spot after. The brisket was just OK, maybe 3/5 stars. The sausage was edible 2/5 stars. The star of the meal were the ribs 4/5 stars. Also had the beans, which were just beans slightly better than out of the cans beans. The potato salad was OK.
The vibe was old school in the shop, and then there was seating outside.
The biggest detraction was the price. A meal for two + 15% tip was just over $100. It's just not good enough to justify the price.

The parking lot was muddy, and food was overpriced. Chopped brisket sandwich, side, and drink for $20.34. No pickles or onions included, just sauce and pico. Potato salad is basically a loaded baked potato, nothing like the usual mustard potato salad. Food is okay at best with limited menu items.

Your sliced brisket is on my Mount Rushmore. Your sides are great. My honestly only conplaint was I didn’t love the tortillas. That said, don’t change a thing. Keep on keepin on!

Fantastic...I highly recommend a trip to zavala's bbq. Put this on your bbq bucket list. The banana pudding is different and I highly recommend it.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the brisket – it was cooked to perfection, tender, and packed with flavor. Every bite was an absolute treat! The seasoning was spot on, and the meat was so juicy, I could tell it had been slow-cooked with great care.
The staff was equally impressive. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. They made us feel right at home and were attentive without being overbearing. It's clear that they genuinely care about providing a great dining experience for their guests. Specially a shout out to Laisha for being awesome in their team. Thanks Laisha!!!
