Disappointed they were out of the shrimp and grits so I ordered the uptown lunch. The shrimp was overcooked but the fish and fries were good. Service was great though.
2:30 on Thursday.
Ordered a shrimp po-boy and a cup of seafood gumbo.
Gumbo - Was super thick and black tasted like rue was cooked a bit too long and tasted slightly burnt.
Po-Boy - bread was good and the fries were good and seasoned well. Shrimp was severely over cooked and was hard and chewy with zero seasoning.
Server- Excellent service. Server was nice, polite and made sure I had everything I needed.

Been looking for a cajun seafood spot for a while since they shut down razoos a while ago. Dodies fills that void in my heart lol. All honesty, it is better than razoos. Fried pickles were delish with some freally good ranch. Fish was fresh and crunchy. Hushpuppies were crunchy, soft inside, and had the corn inside. The crawfish were outstanding, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. The oysters were fresh and served ice-cold. The blackened chicken was one of the best, juicy with a crisp exterior. However, some dishes were overly salted, and the chargrilled oysters could have been cooked longer. The service is very friendly, attentive, and quick. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing, with a patio for outdoor seating, easy parking, and bicycle-friendly parking. Hearing the train in the background was cool. The staff is pleasant, and the owner takes pride in the restaurant. A great spot worth coming back to.
