Maria's is our breakfast spot! We drive the 60+ minutes from Lake Charles to this quaint diner in Groves, TX. Why? Because of the chilequiles! There are three sauce options: red, ranchero, and green. Every single one is great, but green is my new favorite because it is a tomatillo based green sauce, not cilantro (I'm one of the unfortunate soapers). Ask for the extra hot green sauce (beware: it requires a dose of respect), add an over easy egg and you've got breakfast...
From placing order over the phone to the picking it up they were the nicest people and the food was great will definitely be back and the prices in my opinion were in line with others.
Excellent food and even better service. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the full parking lot should tell you something. I've had breakfast there 2 days in a row and plan on going back again tomorrow.
