Excellent fish & chicken

Always made fresh.

Very good fish and shrimp.
A nice place to dine in at if you don't mind the slight smell of cigarette smoke.
The menu is a little bare, but they offer À la carte for everything.
They offer take out in nice boxes and bag, but the wait can be pretty long.
The shrimp were fantastic, easily sliding right out of their tail.

Doesn't matter what area of the metroplex I happen to be working in on and given day, if I'm even remotely close to the mid-cities this place is my go to for lunch and/or dinner, sometimes both. Their fried catfish is some of the best I've ever had and it's like that every time. They are one of the only places in town that knows how to do fried okra correctly, and the portions of whatever sides you get are always huge. If I had to guess I would say I've eaten here close to 100 times and I've not once, not EVER had a bad experience. On the occasions that I have convinced friends or coworkers to join me they all agree that the food is excellent. The owners are always super friendly, the service is prompt and the food is quick. And I haven't even mentioned their fried chicken, which they do even better than their catfish.

Unlike Raising Canes, you can smell the flavor.. like cavemen discovering fire, Raising Canes fans will finally discover what salt and pepper is.. unlike Raising Canes, you actually get the portions and taste you paid for.

Now look, this place ain't no Raising Canes and their sauce, but this place has deliciously seasoned food. I ordered their combo #6, 4 tenders, seasoned crinkle cut fries, a drink (I got coke), and a small cup of gravy.

They cooked this up straight up fresh from the fryers - I had to wait for it to cool down!

First impressions upon opening my to-go container:
- The tenders are absolutely enormous
- The fries are extremely well seasoned with what seems to be some light chili salt
- Tenders have a satisfying deep fried crispy crunch (true to its name).
- The bread roll was okay, it's like the other chicken spots
- Gravy is gravy!

For $9.50 after tax, this place is it! You get incredible portions, well-seasoned food, and very good, fresh food for a very good price (the other reviews say it all).

This place is always quick and the food is always fresh. This has become my Mom's favorite chicken spot. The customer service is wonderful, and the prices are extremely affordable!

The place is clean and the staff/owners are friendly. The fried chicken is some of the best I’ve ever tasted…! The fish (not catfish) is cooked perfectly and pairs well with the seasoned fries. The prices are great. I got 1-fish, 2-chicken, fries and a drink for $9.50 out the door. I’ll be back!!!

This is a ruby, not diamond, in the rough. The food is good and service is always kind. The building is a bit rough and I think a lot of people pass it by, don't you won't regret it. The catfish is wonderful and the chicken has always beef fresh.
