La Playa Mexican Cafe

Ordered the fried shrimp avocado. Asked the lady over the phone if it comes with a fajita taco, says yes. First Lady passes the phone to another lady and I tell her the same thing. I want a fajita taco w/ my order. She says, okay. Pick my food up and the taco is a cold hard corn tortilla with pieces of stale, cold fish. The avocado had 4 shrimp inside. Not worth $20.

Lunch portion was enough to fill me up enough to not be tired for remainder of day and server was helpful and excellent.

La Playa saved my wedding celebration!! We had reserved a month in advance at another local restaurant for a quick dine-in with family to celebrate tying the knot on Valentine’s Day. As our special day was approaching, we found it was very difficult to have solid confirmation our party would be accommodated adequately with seating together, desserts we would be providing, and proper service. With only 1 day away, my fiancé and I felt like we would be scrambling to find another spot with such short notice. I cannot stress enough how we regretfully did not pick La Playa to be our immediate choice. Our tables were ready 20 minutes before our reservation was even scheduled for, our waitstaff was so attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had several family members who drove all the way from San Antonio that were impressed by the delicacies La Playa had to offer. I cannot imagine a better experience! What a memorable experience it was to celebrate such a special day at this very special place. Highly recommend for spontaneous dinners, special events, and everything in between! Cannot thank Paolo and his staff enough!! Will be returning again and again!

First off the beans and beef fajitas were amazing. The chicken fajitas, carne picada taco, rice and enchiladas lacked flavor. The award winning margaritas were terrible so got a premier and it was just as bad. The water is tap and has a bad aftertaste. The salsa is also really good. It's a one and done for me!

Great restaurant with really good food. I enjoyed the queso Flameado. It’s pretty busy in there, but to me that’s a sign of a healthy restaurant and the staff takes good care. You will get nice in your drink, no matter how many times you ask for not ice.

This was my first visit and I was delighted with the delicious food. I tried one of their specialties, Calabaza. Con Puerco and highly recommend it. They offer an excellent Lunch Menu.

The food was wonderful - fresh, hot and well presented. Our server was very nice but could have been more attentive. We were seated near the kitchen so it was pretty noisy. Overall, it was a good experience.
