I drove 28 miles from my house in Brownsville to Lara’s Bakery in Harlingen to buy sweet bread for my girlfriend who is under the weather. She loves their sweet bread. I arrived 10 minutes before Lara’s Bakery opened. There was a line of people waiting outside. This is how good tasting sweet bread is sold here. Two ladies attending the customers are fast and friendly. Majority of customers were taking boxes of sweet bread plus a couple of bags..
I have always heard good things about this place.
It always looks packed. However, this being my first time going there, I can see why it always looks packed. There’s almost nowhere to park.
The sweet bread was good. I was a little bit, disappointed with the wait time, even though I had ordered hours ahead.
Overall, I can see why people really like this bakery and I hope to come back at sometime. Maybe it was just the morning rush.

Freshly made of the day, Been in services for Generations and is still great, make time earlier and more for there's most times a good line to wait on; trust me the Wait is truly worth it, definitely coming back more often.
