A few weeks ago I stopped at Bob's on the long haul..I grewcup eating Bob's bbq from the start. This time I carried four Dutch guys and they loved the bbq. It was great to chat and reminisce but Bob would be proud
I got a 3 meat plate- Ribs, spicy boudin and brisket. Everything was excellent!!! Big thick meaty tender ribs, the brisket was so juicy and tender with a smoky seasoned bark and the boudin,......yessir!!! Salw is good but, those baked beans ??!! Nice smokiness to them!! One of my favorite spots in TX now!!! Great friendly staff, hearty plates!! Thank yall!!! The pics are after I microwaved it after a while....these plates are hot and juicy and heavy!!!
I "literally" live right around the corner, and I grew up in this neighborhood. Not only that, but the owners are relatives. They've used the EXACT same recipes since before they were in business which HENDERSON & our surrounding towns ALL fell in love with. So much so, that the city chose to rename "POPE Street" which is now known as "BOB ALLEN Way" as we recently laid Mr. Bob Allen to rest.
