I mean I’m not sure what I expected walking up those steps covered in duck poop and lord knows what else but I at least thought there’s no way a place on the bay could mess up fried shrimp. I was proven wrong! It must have been fried three days earlier by how stale and cold it was. I have to give the waitress some credit. She did her best considering she was literally the only person waiting tables. The ducks were cool until one took a big poop next to me. They do deserve 5 stars for their bottled beer. It had been bottled and it was cold.

So I have been getting carry out for years now. Always get The chicken fried steak. There has been two times that the chicken fried steak has been absolutely horrible! 7-3 2026 . I had to make a sandwich and go to bed . I always order early 3:00 to 4:00 pm so there’s not a rush. Once I could see but when it happen again. I have to say something. No breading on the chicken fried steak it was falling off no gravy on the side mashed potatoes maybe a spoon Full, very small and corn also the same size. At this point, I will never order again from this restaurant. Definitely don’t get carried out. I know their food is great, but I guess with the carryout they really don’t care. Just my experience.
The Bayou hangout. Great atmosphere. Live music. Good food. Cold beer. Cool peeps.
Fun marina atmosphere. Great fresh fish!

Louie’s Bait Camp & Restaurant is one of those no-frills, straight-up coastal Texas spots that just hits every time. Laid-back waterfront vibe, cold drinks, and solid seafood without any pretentious stuff.
The food is always fresh—fried shrimp, oysters, and the kind of simple plates that actually taste better by the water. Service is friendly, and it feels like a place where locals and boaters actually hang out, not just tourists passing through.
Perfect stop if you want good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and that classic bayou/bait camp feel.

Very laid back bar and restaurant. Food is good and priced right. Sit on the deck and watch the ducks and people fishing on the pier.

Beer was ice cold, unfortunately so were the fried stuffed jalapeños. French fries were hot and crispy. Fried cod was rubbery. Slow service.
