This was my second time in Hondo but first time going out in town. Deep Creek was recommended as the bar to go to and it did not disappoint. Went on a Thursday night and had a great time drinking with friends. The bartender, June, made us feel very welcome. The drinks were plentiful and well priced. The atmosphere was welcoming. We came back Saturday night and they had an awesome band, drinks were flowing and it was lively. The patio out back is amazing and the decor throughout was fantastic. If you're in town, I'd highly recommend stopping by. Also, the mini beers are sooooo tasty. You have to get one or five.

We were denied service for having out of state id’s. We’re working out of state building a sub station for AEP. They said they thought our id’s were fake, because it was spring break. Now all I want to know is who in their right mind would go to Hondo, TX to spend their spring break. There wasn’t a single person in there, and they denied us for having out of state legal id’s. All it takes is for them to look online and see that you can check the id with a light. Which we did. First time I’ve ever had an experience like this. Would not recommend going there due to the ignorance of the bartender’s. Since it took two to check our id’s and immediately determine they were “fakes”.

Went in to have a drink after work on a thursday. It was about 1040 so we felt pretty bad but figured "hey one beer and then we are out." There was a group at the bar and no bartender. Awkwardly, we waited a few minutes to see if we would be greeted or even acknowledged. Nothing. so we left. I'm really sad because I've been there before and never felt so uncomfortable.
