Nice! Two parking lots, easy access. Friendly greeting, quickly seated, nice decor. Nothing fancy here, just good food! The chips were so good and the freshly made salsa was even better. His beef quesadilla was good-sized with sides of beans and rice and homemade guacamole (so good!). My shrimps tacos were full of bite-sized shrimp - shrimp in every bite!My only complaint is that they don’t have a full bar…..soda is served from the can with a glass of ice. Some beer and only frozen margaritas.But, the food is so good, we will return just for that!

Went in with high hopes and was a little let down. I thought the cowboy queso was great. I got cheese enchiladas and didn’t like them and would rate them a 5/10. The atmosphere was cool and nice. However, service was good and they were nice and helpful but the waiters were a little confused when we tried to order. I had a group of 8 and we were all on the same page about the food, service, and atmosphere. If I were you I would maybe try it once and see if you like it, but it was an okay experience overall.

I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty my food was! We are traveling thru the area and decided to eat here. I got a new dish called Acapulco Chicken which comes with a mango-avocado salsa, lime flavored rice and a small salad. Oh it was so good! And not heavy like so much Mexican food is. The salsa worth the chips was also very good. Hubby got 3 beef tacos with Spanish rice and beans and he liked that too. Definitely a great place to eat!

Giving three stars because they are closed on a Saturday. Restaurant was open in the past on Saturday now it isn't. Very hard to find a good Mexican restaurant in Hondo on the weekends.
Seriously the best Mexican food in Hondo. Service is great, wait times are short, incredible enchiladas and queso. The only place you can order REAL guacamole.Kid-friendliness: The kids quesadilla is good, I wish they had more variety for kids, wither a crispy taco plate or enchilada plate.

Salsa was primary tomato sauce, rice felt like plastic with no taste, beans were so old and over cooked they tasted burnt and the carne guisada was so salty it was inedible. Owners, you need another cook !

First of all, the food: HOLY FREAKIN' COW, it is good! Cowboy Queso: amazing! Everything we all had was just very tasty!This is Tex-Mex of the highest order and they sure k is what they're doing.This is a family restaurant, almost 100 years old and in the 3rd generation. It's obvious why.It was our server's first day and yet she was on the ball and was super nice.If I'm ever back in Hondo (can't imagine I would be) I'd absolutely have to stop here!❤️
