Hermann Sons has been a staple in our community for decades. I fully understand that the price of everything has gone thru the roof, so I am neither surprised nor disappointed that they increased their prices. However, they have taken so much off of their menu AND decreased their portion sizes along with the price increase. For instance, we ordered the Alvin steak. The menu boasts a double portion of meat, filled with cheese. What we received was smaller than a Bic Mac burger patty with barely any cheese. Very disappointed. And their bartenders are very friendly but lack the basic skills to make an Old Fashioned. So if you have money to burn, aren’t very hungry, and don’t want a mixed drink…this is the place for you. We will probably return to see if it was just an off night, but I’m not making any bets on it being any different. This truly saddens me.

First time, been wanting to try their food. Ordered the rib eye, green beans and rice pilaf, enchiladas. Enchiladas were super tasty, rib eye was extremely tender and delicious, green beans were a bit over cooked, didn't have a crunch that I prefer, rice pilaf seemed a bit dated and dry granted it was later in the day. Overall we really enjoyed the food, the patio is amazing, hope to come back for the pepper steak burger and warmer weather to enjoy the patio.

Would recommend but beware! My husband and I went in for lunch today, had some amazing hamburgers...wouldn't classify it as a "smash burger" but they were good! Our waitress walked past our table, dropping silverware set up on the floor (yes a napkin is rolled around most of it, not completely enclosed in the napkin...but still it fell on the floor), picked it up, tucked it under her arm pit (3 sets) & proceeds to drop something off at 1 table, removes silverware sets from under her arm and then greets new table, placing said silverware in front of them. Hostess walks past us and I let her know what I saw. She says let me get the manager. Manager comes over and I explain what I've just seen, telling her they need new silverware. Manager says "thanks, I'll talk to her". None of them...waitress, hostess, Manager go to the table and change out the silverware. I did inform the table and they asked another waitress for new silverware sets.

Our family has been dining at Herman Sons, for as long as I can remember. This Saturday, We as a family of 40+ folks, had just recently lost our beloved (father, grandfather, great-grandfather & friend, to all who knew him). His favorite place to eat out was Herman Sons. In his honor the entire group showed up, without reservations at their door. The kindest, nicest folks moved us into a large back room, that was perfect! Bless them. The food was 5 Star as always. Thank You Again Herman Son's. 💓

Hadn’t been here in years. I was in hondo for a photo shoot and hungry. I was craving a chicken sandwich. The sandwich was amazing. The salad bar was delicious. Really great meal!! Might drive 45 mins to go again soon!

The food was ok but the onion rings were a little chewy and the pepper steak was NOT spicy at all it needed more SPICE.
Cold food, the order was incorrect, and now food poisoning. What a wonderful experience it was. We've gone here for well on 30 years, and I promise will never be back.

Why is it so expensive and why was the chicken more chewy than gum? It has been almost a year since we came here, it's worse. Got the order wrong, food was very low quality. Again, why is this so expensive? Your country music makes people sad because their food isn't cheering them up.
