Super friendly, very attentive hosts! Chicken fried steak for breakfast is a great call, but then so was the meat lover's omelet. So many amazing choices, and all of them made perfectly! Love this place, can't seem to make enough trips there to try everything. Highly recommend!

The best burgers ever every one was nice the hamburgers are really good size and the onion rings is really good gave me good portions definitely will come back again thank u I will recommend it to people thank u Hondo cafe. Keep up the good work and love the old skool music will come back again

They have great old fashioned greasy burgers and fries, so good! Everything I've had here has been really good. Love their Greek salad and breakfast too, so hard though not to get the cheese burger every time.The owner is really nice and friendly. Id go more often but they close at 230pm all but 1 night a week so I rarely make it over in time but it's worth it wheni do!

Service extremely slow. Observed other group being served plate at a time, extending service. Ordered BLT, not a great choice. Fries were homemade but a little soft.

We went on Christmas to concan texas, after going to garner state park to fulfill one of my father’s dream, we stopped by to check hondo cafe, in hondo, texas. Anyways, i wasn’t hungry at all just very tired and sleepy, so my whole family and relatives we stopped by to eat in hondo, cafe.For sure this place is local and there is no doubt about it. Im not a person that insists on something i can’t get, that is not sold there or they may serve, but i do love “options” just like everybody else.So i gave it a 5 star ⭐️. Why?The server was friendly, she kept up to date and she kept on checking up on everyone, she looked young like senior high school or maybe freshman in college, anyways i do understand she is not 100% experienced on the job restaurant because she does look young and like she is picking up experience. Which is a good thing, plus we are no one to judge since she is young and we all are humans so we all make mistakes every once here and there.What i liked is that she was well organized with the order, she was friendly, she did explained what they have and she kept explaining the sides and everything else how it was adding up and the options she had. I do understand her frustration because she was alone serving the whole restaurant, the manager was just talking to his regulars, which i believe and laughing alot, like if he was having a good time which it makes the environment happy and a family type.The best part is. I loved the burguer, this cheeseburger ? i ordered was like extremely balanced. Well cooked, very juicy patty and the fried onion rings made it even better.The rest of my family did ordered brunch type like combinations of different dishes but i don’t like to do that, i like to stick to one solid option or just truing to be original.Anyways to me the cheeseburger ?, the environment, the manager, the cashier, the waitress maddie, and the family gathering we had, was very nice pretty and we felt very comfortable. No one was rude, everyone was friendly sweet and nice. And the waitress that took our orders was very nice, friendly, patient and asking to confirm our orders, that gave me satisfaction because it made me see that she was caring about our orders and of course how she organized herself to take an order of a big table of 12 people.So kudos to maddie!Thanks for assisting us and helping us.It was for all of us a great experience.?

Typically I do not submit reviews for restaurants where I think the review may be damaging. In this case I really could not help myself. We saw two incidents where things were contaminated by touching the floor, and then being picked up to reuse. The first was when one of the waitresses dropped a stack of styrofoam cups on the floor and then picked them up and stacked them up for use. We pointed it out to our waitress and a few of the dropped cups were removed. I don't think they got all of them. The second instance involved our waitress adjusting the legs of a table (depart to touch the ground) and then serving food without washing her hands. While I could typically say that in a extreme rush accidents can happen this was not at a busy time for the restaurant. We may be more hypervigilant these days for hygienic adherence with the spread of communicable diseases so maybe I am blowing things out of proportion. As they often say if the front of the house is dirty, the back of the house is even worse.Overall I wasn't very satisfied with the food either. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. A little overpriced for what it was but my wife did enjoy hers. I think a little better management would definitely help this restaurant. I like to support local businesses, and would try this one again if I thought things had changed. As of right now I think it'll be a while before I go back.
