I recently enjoyed a delightful Thanksgiving brunch buffet at this place. The warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a memorable experience. From the perfectly roasted turkey to the decadent desserts, every dish showcased culinary excellence. The variety of options catered to diverse palates, ensuring there was something for everyone. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall positive ambiance, making it a perfect choice for celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. I highly recommend 1600 Bar + Grille for a tasteful and enjoyable holiday feast.

The food was fantastic, and our server was very kind. It took forever to seat us and order though- apparently they were short-staffed and were unaware a conference was going on.

My girlfriend and I were downtown Sunday morning to attend the international quilt festival at the George R Brown. Not knowing that it didn't open till later than thought, we had a couple hours to kill so we decided to get breakfast. After walking around for a bit... we realized the selection was limited. We walked in to the lobby only because we knew there was a Starbucks, and after seeing 1600 bar and grill, we decided to give it a try. The walk-through the lobby was very enticing. Beautiful finishes on every surface, and as we walk through, we noticed the chef had herbs growing on a rack under grow lights. Which intrigued us. I have to tell you upfront that after getting the minis, we were a little shocked at the prices.... Not what we are usually a custom to spending on a breakfast!!!! But I am so glad we went ahead and went in... We opted for the brunch buffet... The best breakfast we both have ever had! The selection was wide, and some not so typical brunch items that turned out to be so good. Omelettes made to order. They don't put out a whole lot of food at one time therefore you're always guaranteed something fresh and very tasty. Selection of fruit and cured meats enough for anybody to find some thing that they like, or had never tried before. The kicker what is the service and staff... If you go here for the weekend, brunch, be sure and ask to sit in Mohamed section. It would've been complete without him, his witty comments, and just pleasurable conversation. One of those people you meet in your life that you just know will help you if they can. Being from Houston and already knowing what we were doing for the rest of the day, I didn't even ask to ask what his favorite sites to see downtown would be... He volunteered it and kept us captivated as he kept coming back to add to the story. He always seem to be there when we were in the need of some thing or just breathe by to check to make sure we were OK. We were kind of sitting off to ourselves, so we also had a visit from the branch manager and the bar and Grill manager just to make sure everything was going as we expected. Neither of us had experienced this type of service in a very long time. This is a great place for a special weekend, breakfast, and just keep in mind the selection is very much worth the price!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving brunch! Not being huge turkey fans it was nice to have so many options. The food was great...shrimp and brisket tostados were standouts. The dessert display was just gorgeous. The servers were very attentive. Nice touch when the Executive Chef came around to check on all the guests.

Thanksgiving brunch was absolutely superb. All the staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs especially our server named Woody always made sure my mimosas were never bottomless.

Disappointed in this restaurant for breakfast. We arrived after 8 am on a Saturday morning. We planned to get the buffet. No one came to our table for a good 10 minutes after we were seated despite a whole bunch of servers standing around doing nothing. We had no idea what we were supposed to do if we just wanted to get the buffet. Finally someone came to offer us coffee after two tables who were seated after us already had their coffee poured. I told the server I liked a lot of cream for my coffee. There is no cream on the table. I went up to get my breakfast buffet, came back and still there was no cream. I had to physically get up and go over to the waiter who was at the cash register to ask again for my cream. A customer should never have to get up to find their server for something they asked for 10 minutes before!! Listen, people!! Americans like their coffee! People are tired and cranky in the morning and coffee is an addiction. You have to offer cream and sugar to someone WHEN YOU POUR THEIR COFFEE. For that reason and the horrible service, I will never come back here again, breakfast food was subpar. Sausages were not good. Everything else was warm to cool in temperature. Who serves cold eggs? Not worth the money. Go to Starbucks instead.

Typical hotel restaurant with standard fare. I opted for the grilled chicken club sandwich. All their sandwiches come with fries but I asked for options and the waitress indicated a bowl of fruit could be substituted. I always pause because you never know how much, which kinds, and whether fresh or canned. To my delight, there was a nice variety of fruits and all appeared to be freshly cut! (see pic) The sandwich was pretty darn good too (but not on par with the $17 price) The only major ding was that service was agonizingly slow - roughly 20 minutes to place the order; 30+ minutes to receive the entree; and another 15 minutes After handing over credit card to receive the final bill to sign.

This Hidden Gem in the Hilton hotel truly represents the Hilton chain so well. The food was delicious, but the cocktails and service were outstanding! I was so impressed how all staff jump in to help customers. What a beautiful place for anyone to feel welcomed and safe

The 1600 Bar & Grill is located on the ground floor of the Hilton Americas, which we stay at once a year to attend Comicpalooza. We always eat here for dinner at least once as we enjoy the food and are always delighted to see team members that we recognize from prior trips. Our server, Leticia, although relatively new to this hotel, was absolutely fabulous and made us feel very welcome. She was friendly, attentive, and had a wonderful laugh. She made us feel at home. Kudos to the back of the house for a delicious meal. The grilled vegetables, which we substituted for fries, were outstanding. The burger was excellent and flavorful. After a busy day at Comicpalooza, this was a wonderful way to unwind while enjoying a good meal and a nice bottle of wine. Welcome aboard, Leticia! We hope to see you and your fellow teams members next year when we return. A final shout out to the restaurant manager who leads this outstanding team. You are all a credit to the Hilton family. Cheers!

I would have given it 5 stars except it didn't have a carving station in my opinion that's a big part of having a great holiday brunch buffet. Your servers were polite, courteous and prompt. Pleasant surprise to have mimosas included. Food was good I would go back again

If you're staying at the Hilton Americas, this is the best option for a variety and tasty breakfast. While the continental breakfast is overpriced, if you plunk a few dollars more then you get the full buffet breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and omelets along with french toast. Compare to all the overpriced bbq items around here this is a welcomed shift in food options. I deleted my prior review to share my renewed enjoyment of this place -- still way too pricey.

The Waiter Rommel and Waitress Deja provided excellent service with a smile. My order consisted of hot cakes, bacon and eggs! Every item on my plate was delicious. There was no long wait and the food arrived as ordered. I highly recommend this resturant for breakfast!

This was about the worst meal I've ever had. Ordered the Reuben panini and it was cold and cheese not even melted. Husband had the burger which he said was fine. Ordered dessert and the ice cream served with sticky toffee pudding was frozen so hard couldn't even cut it with a knife and fork. Pudding was basically like a piece of cold muffin. It is a shame that an upscale Hilton has such a bad restaurant. Hate to leave such a bad review but for a meal that cost over $80 for two sandwiches and two desserts, felt like it should have been much better. At least the service and setting were good.
