Did not know what to expect from this little restaurant. Food pies was delicious. Especially the lamb and curry pie, they had a mild to medium spicy level. Which is perfect for me. The chicken mushroom was surprisingly good even though I’m not a big mushroom eater.

2 Phat Bastard Pies are perhaps the only restaurant of its kind in Houston selling South African meat pies with an Indo flair. I've been several times, and the food is always top-notch quality with plenty of fillings to choose from. Each pie is made to order so the bread is fresh and flaky. My wife and I always order two, and we split and share halves. What's my favorite? All of them...seriously. We always get samoosas, and if we're really hungry, we add fries that come with a spiced up dipping sauce.
The owners are from South Africa themselves and are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I tell my wife all the time how lucky we are to have such a great establishment nearby.

Picked up frozen pies so we could enjoy these back in Louisiana. The friendly owners packed them perfectly for me and gave me ice to keep them cool. Just cooked some for dinner - delicious and satisfying 😋. We will be back
The pie was baked to order so it was hot and tasty. The pastry was done perfectly. The crust was perfect: light and flaky. There was plenty of chicken inside the pie.
My friend really likes it and he would give it a 5/5.
As for me, I prefer a smaller pie and a few potatoes in the mix but that’s just me.

Well first off, I was led here under false pretense, but I was not disappointed.
I searched Google Maps for dessert and it showed me this place for "pies," little did I know we were talking about a totally different kind. ?
Nonetheless, I walked all the way there and the menu looked good, so I tried the chicken mushroom pie and it was great. Took what felt like a surprisingly long time for something that was already pre-made, but it was delicious!
