I came here for brunch with a friend and ordered the shrimp and grits. Unfortunately, when I got down to the last few shrimp, I opened one and saw the dark intestinal vein still inside, meaning the shrimp hadn’t been properly cleaned. By that point I had already eaten most of the dish, which made it even more upsetting.

I politely brought it to the waiter’s attention and was told there was nothing he could do because I had already eaten most of the meal. I also mentioned it to a manager, who simply said she would let the kitchen know. No effort was made to acknowledge the issue or remedy the situation.

As someone who dines out often, I understand that mistakes happen in kitchens. What matters most is how they’re handled, and unfortunately this situation was simply dismissed.

When it came time to pay, I mentioned that I had otherwise enjoyed my visit but was disappointed with how the situation was handled. The waiter responded in a snarky tone, “You ate it all!” before walking away.

Regardless of how much was eaten, serving uncleaned shrimp is still unacceptable and should be taken seriously. It’s disappointing because I’ve been here before and had good experiences, but based on how this was handled, I don’t see myself returning to A’Bouzy.

Great food and we absolutely loved their tuna tartare. The cocktail bar was fantastic, and we enjoyed every drink. Their desserts were delicious as well — the perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

We were informed upfront by our server that there would be a significant wait for the Gulf oysters due to the 50-cent special. Totally understandable — the restaurant was packed, especially during rodeo season. We decided to order happy hour appetizers and drinks along with a few items from the main menu while we waited.

The appetizers were delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the cocktails were just okay. The oysters arrived after about an hour, but they were gritty and contained noticeable sand and small shell fragments. I’ve dined at many busy restaurants before, and even during high-volume service, oysters are typically cleaned properly. It was disappointing to have to spit out shell with nearly every bite.

I also overheard the manager mention to another table that the owner was helping shuck, which shows effort during a busy service — but quality control shouldn’t slip. Speaking of management, the manager checked on nearly every table around us (including those seated after us) but never stopped by ours.

Given the long oyster wait, it would have been helpful if the entrées were coursed more thoughtfully. We weren’t checked on again until the oysters arrived, so there wasn’t an opportunity to adjust timing. The entrées came out shortly after and were unfortunately mediocre. We only had a few bites before asking for them to be boxed.

Overall, I would likely return for happy hour and à la carte appetizers, which were strong, but the full dinner experience fell short this time.

I came here for brunch with four friends and from the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing.

We were not greeted when we entered. Although the patio was busy (which we completely understood), the inside of the restaurant appeared fairly empty. We were immediately told there were no tables available without a reservation and that only the bar was open (we were told this by a heavier weight white host). We were fine with that and agreed to sit at a small round table in the corner — no issue at all.

But then our server came up and, in a shocked tone, asked why we didn’t make a reservation or wait for a table. That confused us because we had just been told nothing was available. So we literally went online right there and made a reservation. When we went back to the host stand, the same hostess looked at us with a stink eye and said, “Oh, now you have a reservation?” in a very rude, arrogant, and honestly condescending tone. It felt extremely discriminatory. I understand we’re young, but that shouldn’t affect how we’re treated. Money was not an issue — we were fully prepared to pay.

The service didn’t improve much from there. Our server was polite, but very inattentive. We were seated right by the door, and he still managed to ignore us most of the time while focusing on other tables. Simple requests like hot sauce or even the check took over 15 minutes. I understand places get busy, but this was excessive.

And to make things worse, the valet experience was ridiculous. The attendants talked about people right in front of them, charged $6, still asked for a tip, and you basically have to walk to your own car while they just reverse it out.

Overall, the whole experience felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Definitely not what you expect from a place that markets itself as upscale. I won’t be returning.

I had a really disappointing experience at this restaurant. From the moment I arrived, the valet staff were rude and unhelpful, which immediately set a negative tone for the evening. When I went inside to check in, the hostess clearly did not want to give us a table and made us feel unwelcome. Once I showed that I had a reservation, her attitude became even worse — she gave me an ugly look and continued to treat us in a very cold and dismissive way. There was no friendliness, no professionalism, and no effort to make us feel comfortable as guests. Between the rude valet service and the hostess’s mean and unwelcoming behavior, the entire experience felt uncomfortable and disrespectful. I truly expected much better customer service. It was the hostess with orange hair

Love coming to a’Bouzy and enjoying their patio on a nice day. Whenever I’m craving Moules Frites, this is the place I go! Grab that, a couple of baguettes, and some bubbles…magnifique!!

Food was over priced for the quality. I was served burned inedible potatoes as the side to my dish.

Surprised my partner to dinner at 6:30 here for her 21st birthday, and we were far from disappointed. Our server Sarai was very friendly, informative, and overall a hardworking server. The atmosphere is very soft and nice. However the music was country the entire time which was a little off for a french spot. The food was beyond anything i’ve ever had before. It was impeccable, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Overall 10/10 will be coming back.
