Abu omar has been my steadfast favorite for years but ever since they changed to the new small portions in the ugly boxes I just can't go any more. Such a shame I hope whatever overpriced marketing consultant told them to do that gets fired.
We visited this food cart at 12 PM and ordered both chicken and beef shawarma to try.
Chicken Shawarma – 5/10
The bread was not traditional shawarma bread, more like a tortilla, which took away from the authentic experience. The garlic paste was also disappointing, as it didn’t resemble the authentic shawarma garlic sauce.
Beef Shawarma – 8/10
The beef shawarma was much better than the chicken, with good seasoning and texture. However, it was missing pomegranate molasses and parsley, which would have elevated it to a perfect 10/10.
Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it lacked the authentic flavors we expected. A few improvements could make it much better.

These people genuinely piss me off. The food is great, but they never give you the extras you pay for when ordering delivery. Someone at this location also has a vendetta against pickles. On multiple occasions, I’ve requested extra pickles. Paid for them even. And do not get them. Not even the regular amount. No pickles. You don’t get them at all at night from this location. Feels like it’s personal for someone there.

I purchased a $50 beef and chicken combo shawarma, and it was the worst shawarma I’ve ever had. The beef was burned and had an unpleasant smell, while the chicken was tough and overcooked. When I called to inform them about the issue, they refused to acknowledge that the meat was not fresh.

I got a Rice Bowl from this place, and it was like, totally stale, and the tomato was all moldy. I just threw it away. I'm not going back there again, for sure.

Worst service i have ever had. They really need to train their staff about how to talk to customers.

Unfortunately, the food is not clean. I ate there and now I have a problem with stomach bacteria, and my condition is not fine.

Basic.
Chicken tastes old, like it's been sitting out and overpriced or is inflation that bad ?

An excellent place for halal food in Houston, Texas, especially Arabic shawarma, whether meat shawarma or chicken shawarma.
