My companion was reluctant to try something new and the menu does require a bit of explanation regarding the wonderful fusion of dishes. She ordered a bowl of white rice in case my choice of the restaurant did not suit her palate. Well, the white rice was used to soak up the remaining sauce from the cold cucumbers as well as mixed in with the engu chicken. Also tried the waffle with a butter that has a wonderful cornucopia of flavors. My friend, who was a bit pouty about going somewhere new, by the end of the meal was texting her daughter, offering to babysit so she could enjoy this fabulous restaurant.
The food was so unique and incredible. You have to get the Rangoon dip, the crispy shell on shrimp, and the chicken dish to share. Cocktails were delicious and service was exceptional!!
Great food and nice vibe. It was packed but I see why, the food was so unique and different! For sure has that diner vibe!
We had an amazing experience, from the fantastic atmosphere (omg the playlist!) to the team that feels like a family, and of course, the fabulous food!
I cannot justify the hype about the restaurant. The food was just ok, a lot of fried elements in the dishes,l making it feel street/ fast food, atmosphere is more for a lunch spot rather than brunch.
The food was unique and delicious! Their version of an old fashioned was an amazing cocktail with perfectly clear ice in a glass I e never experienced before. The pandan sundae was so good , I'm still thinking about it! It is walkable in the Heights and made for a delightful evening!
If I could give it 10 stars, I would!! Food and service were amazing. Loved brunch - may travel back to Houston for dinner.
Went on a Saturday around 8:45p with my boyfriend. Plenty of parking in front of the building. Host stand was incredibly friendly and super hospitable! Service from Chris (I believe that was his name) was amazing and he was really helped guide us through the menu and gave us a bit of a history on chef and the background of Agnes & Sherman. That totally elevated our time there. Every employee who touched our table was so kind and even made a comment that they loved the spread we had. (We ordered half the menu) The food was super unique modern takes on Chinese classics. Growing up Asian myself, it took me back to some of the flavors I grew up eating in my grandparents house, specially the shrimp. We enjoyed everything except for the bok choy which didn't really stand out and felt like the texture of it was a bit too soft for our liking but flavorful. Cocktails were amazing, well balanced, and interesting in the best way. Wish we could've saved room for dessert but took 6x to go boxes of food. Price point was extremely fair. Ambience was so so so quaint. Loved the nod to Chef's family photos. 10/10 recommend. Definitely sit with Chris he will steer you in the most perfect direction.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Service was engaging and dishes were explained in detail. Food was everything we hoped for and more, value is exceptional. Would love to give more than 5 stars, this spot will earn a Michelin star for sure!
Brunch was amazing, especially the rangoons and the waffle. Service was great, got to hear the history and meaning behind the name. Can't wait to try their dinner menu. Highly recommend!

None of the dishes we ordered were hot, mostly lukewarm. We did send the waffle back but it came back out lukewarm. The butter did not melt. The flavor was definitely there. The staff was great. They did comp the waffle. We didn't bother to say anything about the other dishes.
We had a great first experience! We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated immediately. Service flow was perfect throughout the evening as multiple team members interacted to recommend dishes and drop off food and drinks. Ambiance was great- lights, music and conversation levels were all perfect. Cocktails were creative and delicious, and we found a banging Riesling that paired great with the food. We loved every dish we tried and wished we'd brought more people so we could have explored the menu more. We'll be back soon for sure!
Great server, but sadly the food left a lot to be desired. Hamburger stir fried rice was exceptional.
Finally able to make it and loved everything!! Food, experience and atmosphere were phenomenal!
Surly hostess, mediocre food trying too hard to be cool. Had a disappointing dinner a few weeks ago, but decided to try again with brunch. Won't be back.
