We had a terrible experience at Agora. The manager came up to me and my husband multiple times to harass us into ordering faster. The manager even placed his hand on my shoulder which I did not think was appropriate. At which point we left. It felt as though we were strategically singled out due to our race.

If you want to smell like cigarette smoke for the next three days, this is the best place to drop by. There are a ton of coffee shops in Houston that are more welcoming and friendly. The owner is rude/condescending and so are the staff. Crickety chairs, uncomfortable tail-bone breaking couches, etc. I won't be wasting my time/money here any longer.

The most lousy laid back atmosphere. Whether you wanna chill, people watch, chat, scroll the net on your phone. It’s what ever. This has to be your space whenever. The hrs, def shocking to me. Hey I’m in there whenever I get that chance. Especially to get some work done. Thankyou.

I have a cortado and it was really good. They also have a good studying area and you sit there and catch up with work or hangout with friends

The coffee is excellent, the ambiance is relaxing and homely, even studious, and the food is also fresh.

I absolutely love this place but I just left because it’s over run with parents and kids….. people can’t work when babies are screaming. Please put an age limit for gods sake y’all sell alcohol. I’m not sure that’s a good look
for babies and kids….

I’ve been coming to Agora for many years, for Greek belly-dancing there are few places to beat it. A city is bankrupt without representation of different cultures and the ability to experience them.
The outside of the structure is beautiful and brings to mind old world vibes. It’s a two story with an auditorium of sorts inside where the second floor looks down on the first floor. For events it’s gorgeous and the food and drink is great too!
Speaking of events there are lots. The different groups can attribute to varied experiences sometimes not so great. If I could give anyone a bit of advice to make everyone have a good time: remember that belly-dancing in the different styles is an art form to behold, yes, it is sensual in nature and you’re viewing the female form in action. But stay respectful, and if you choose to tip the dancers please do not treat them like a stripper, it’s beyond gross and cringy. I get secondhand embarrassment so bad I feel like I’ll eventually turn into a raisin. Maybe some performers might have different comfort levels but as a rule: DONT!

GIANT COCKROACH ON MY TABLE
I’ve been coming here for over two decades believe it or not. It’s the only place that stays open late in Montrose as far as coffee and wine bar. Sometimes I go in and get a lavender white mocha to go. This time they was out of white mocha which always never happens. So when I asked for recommendations for something just as sweet a good mix the young lady assisting me was almost clueless and not willing to help. So I decided fro get a honey lavender iced latte. My normal price of $7.85 jumped to $8.40. lol, when I asked what in the world was going on she stated it was either 0.50 or $1.00 extra for honey. I’m like what ??? I’m looking at the drink featured on the menu as everything else. I went ahead and purchased it but NEVER again. Baristas not to friendly and the lady who assist with cleaning and is so rude. She also been working there for as long as I’ve been coming. Agora Management you make lotssss of money according to the business I see. Please stop the madness with the up charge for honey
