This place is amazing! The service is exceptional and friendly, and they make sure you have whatever you need. The restaurant is clean, the seats are comfortable, and there is very aesthetic, color-changing lighting. There are plenty of tables equipped with a bottle of soy sauce. But what really matters about a restaurant is the food, and Akashi absolutely nails this aspect. I ordered sushi at a restaurant for the first time here, one California roll and one Philadelphia roll. Each roll consisted of 8 pieces. I really enjoyed the Philadelphia roll. The California roll was good as well, though I personally think that I would enjoy sushi with fish. Like I said, this was my first time having sushi at a restaurant, and the sushi here is delicious. The family dinner is also tasty and gives you a choice of soup, an egg roll, a crab wonton, and a choice of entree. It’s a good way to get a lot of quality food for a lower price than most places: $16.95. I also familiarized myself with chopsticks, though my younger brother caught on faster than I did. Overall, this is a must go if you’re looking for delicious food for a good price.

We have been going to Akashi for a little over a year now since we moved to the neighborhood. However, after today’s visit, I don’t think we will return. We arrived at 11 and placed our orders at 11:07. Our food did not come out until 11:43. We even asked the waitress what was taking so long and she just said that it takes the sushi chef a while to make “all of our sushi.” We were only a table of four, so I’m not sure what took so long. The waitress didn’t clear our table of our appetizers at all, so when the sushi finally did arrive, our table was very crowded. The sushi was all over the place. Some sushi was cut small, but other sushi was too big to eat. It wasn’t uniform at all. And the fish didn’t taste fresh. Overall, it was not a good experience. I don’t think we will be back.

First time here. I will definitely be back, a little out of my way but beats Akimi on Nasa.Ginger dressing is awesome, vegetable tempura is awesome. Perfectly cooked and a wonderful variety of vegetables.Had Dragon which came with shrimp stirfry and a portion of General Tsao's chicken. So many vegetables in the shrimp stirfry and great flavor.Needless to say, I took home leftoversService was great too and nice atmosphere!

I’ve been here many times and the sushi is always just okay. The Specialty rolls/fusion rolls are definitely better than Nigiri or Hand Rolls. The fish used for the sushi is very mediocre and doesn’t taste fresh. It’s a very pretty restaurant though with kind staff. Great for a casual bite in the neighborhood :)
This is my favorite sushi place in Houston. Salt and Pepper wings are great, love the grilled onions and vegetables that come with the wings.

I visited this location on the 30th of December 2023 and I can say I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere though I was disappointed that I couldn't try one of their bento boxes. their general Tso chicken was cooked perfectly and the server was polite and prompt. 10/10 would visit
