If I could give 0 STARS I WOULD!!! I had been a loyal customer of Akashi and had constantly came to Akashi for sushi all the time!!! However I had went to go get sushi tonight and had the worst customer service EVER!! I had accidentally ordered the wrong order tonight and I had realized it when I got in my car to check the food I then went inside to see if I could switch it out for something else because the food is RAW and I don’t like raw sushi! I was very polite and calm about the situation however I was met with HOSTILITY and AGGRESSIVENESS from the MANAGER. This very unprofessional!! I had just simply stated that I wanted to switch it out however I was told no and that the ticket had already been processed and the food was already paid for then I had requested a refund for my money because I’m not going to eat raw food. I had been polite the whole time and nice about it but he still continued to be hostile! This is not okay. After I had persisted about the refund the manager had snatched the food out my hand and had went to finally give me a refund for the food. The receptionist that was there however is extremely kind!!! She had offered to get the manager for me when I had requested it and I apologized for the inconvenience it had caused her and she told me that it was fine. Honestly GREAT service from the receptionist and HORRIBLE service from the MANAGER!!

The Manger Jerry at 5440 El Dorado Blvd Suite 1800, Houston, TX 77059 was very rude and didn’t want to refund me my money back after I’ve received the wrong meal. He was really aggressive after I was being calm and polite about the whole situation. Finally he voided the ticket and told me I would receive my money back.

I came in with no expectations. Usually places that does both Japanese and Chinese are unable to excel at both simultaneously. However every dish except one was a 9 out 10 rating.
From best to ok.
Mongolian Beef is must have. Trust me.
Edamame (sauce is addicting )
Rock shrimp
Lady gaga
Fiji volcano
And veggie tempura.
I will come back and bring my other NASA coworkers here

Great place for lunch or dinner. They even have salmon belly and great Katsu Chicken, lighted breaded, moist. Great service and fair cost. 5 🌟
The service was exceptional and super attentive. The environment looks much better in person. The food was fair, but it could taste better. They handed flowers out to all women too!
Great Asian fusion spot! Lunch menu is awesome too, come anytime

Service is absolutely horrible and they need to be faster with giving us the check
Consistently good food, Constantly poor service, especially during lunch. The good value of the lunch menu options outweighs the poor service most of the time, but this is not true for in the evening
Great food! Amazing staff! Relaxing environment! I can't remember our servers name, but oh my goodness! He's just amazing and makes the best sweet tea!
Akashi, a restaurant offering a mix of Chinese and Japanese dishes, provided an overall pleasant dining experience, though there were a few hits and misses in our meal. My husband opted for the sashimi platter and a spicy scallop hand roll, both of which he absolutely loved. The sashimi was fresh, and the hand roll had a satisfying balance of flavors and a slight kick from the spice, making it a standout.
I went with the family entree, which came with a choice of soup. I chose the wonton soup, but unfortunately, the wontons didn’t meet expectations. The texture was off, though the broth itself was flavorful and comforting. The appetizer platter included an egg roll, which turned out to be my favorite part of the meal, along with a fried shrimp and a crab wonton. While the shrimp was fine, the crab wonton had a creamy filling that I found a bit rich but still enjoyable.
For my entree, I selected the Mongolian beef, but it was a letdown. The dish was far too charred, overpowering the natural flavors of the beef and lacking the anticipated spice. It felt like the dish had missed its mark in flavor balance.
On a positive note, the atmosphere at Akashi was warm and welcoming, with friendly service that made us feel comfortable throughout the meal. While some of the dishes were great, others, like the Mongolian beef and wontons, left something to be desired. Still, the restaurant shows promise, particularly for those in the mood for fresh sushi or satisfying appetizers.
Nice place and friendly staff! I placed a to go order on their website, and I ordered the salad w ginger dressing and the 3 roll sushi deal. It was delish! Ginger dressing was on point and the rolls were fresh
