I ordered yam porridge because I've had it here before and it was decent. I came in to pick it up and decided to order fried yam. However, the empty restaurant should have told me to keep it pushing.

I'm pissed because I ordered the fried yam and stew and got 6 pieces of semi-burnt, bitter, new yam! It's clear they don't know how to fry new yam... brine it in salt and SUGAR. The stew is sour... tomatoes not cooked properly. I'm very annoyed because I wasted $15.

Yup, my total I spent is correct. Don't waste your time, money or effort!

Update: I tried the yam porridge. It was a 3 out of 10. Y'all hire someone who can cook!

I ordered some food today. I was so so hungry and I ordered. I waited for more than an hour for my food and when I finally got home to work to eat my food. There was so napkins or forks. ( to move on from that ) ordered multiple things and I didn’t like how the dishes tasted. The pepper soup is the most flavorless I’ve had in Houston and I love trying it from every location. The two other dishes didn’t help as well. Please read reviews before buying food for the first time ??

ill never recommend anyone to come to this unprofessional restaurant ever. i know this place barely gets business based off the fact its all those chairs in there and no one there for hours on end. the cashier in the front was soooo rude . i told her this is my first time ever ordering something and apologized ahead of time for needing help and that i have an idea of what i want. i wanted something red stewy but with fufu and she shamed me for not having an appropriate side to the main dish. she showed me a type of soup that looked red on the picture . she was not helpful at all like i inconvenienced her to ask questions even though it was over 20$ for one bowl. i got the food and i had chicken added . that food looked so nasty. like super disgusting and it was . no flavor. boiled chicken w the skim and looked like it was old and adde fb into it last minute . the food wasnt even hot . i had tried to eat it and i just couldnt . i shared w someone else who was also disappointed. i went back and i said im sorry but this isnt what i wanted and i just wanted a refund bc i couldnt go through another trying to figure it out . obviously uou dont want to ask again if the cashier already is annoyed and showing her frustration. instead of just giving me my refund the owner is called . then the cook to the front. the cook is now yelling at me saying i insulted her food when i said nothing about the taste. i try to defend myself and the MALE owner is letting both of his female cooks yell at a customer for just wanting her money back. in the rnd they “refunded me” and i never recieved payment. called the owner to see why and now all of a sudden the system wont let him. yeah, okay. i went somewhere wlse literally walking distance to a sweet african lady right by the liquor store and she hooked me up !! literally asked wuestions and she was so willing to give me exactly what i wanted no problem and this is more hole in the wall !she blessed me and was so sweet if you want ti get authentic african food from a mom and pop do NOT COME HERE.

Would not recommend. We thought the last time we visited here it was a moss, so we decided to give it another try. Won’t bother going back here.

5 stars because this is the best food I’ve ever had. I frequently get the egusi soup with catfish and poundo. I could eat it every day! The only thing I don’t like is the unnecessary teasing and small talk that some of the male cashiers try to have with me mostly because I’m introverted so i really appreciate when the younger female cashier is there. Her service is quick, friendly and efficient.

Nice place and very clean too. One of the few places where food does actually taste like African food. Respectful customer service too. PS: make sure to let them know how spicy you want your food cause African Spicy don’t play.!!!!!
