The food and service are always excellent. Restaurants like this are a dying breed and I am THRILLED they will remain open (although moving spaces in a few months). Can't say enough about the value and quality of the food.
Best Mexican food north of the border! We ate there 10 years ago when attending an AKC Dog Show. Everyone loved it.
Had a great dinner at Picos as always, food variety and quality can't be beat by any Mexican restaurant in town, and service always on spot. And, of course, the Margaritas!
I hadn’t been back since they were located on Bellaire Boulevard, but I’ve been craving their food for years. For my 50th birthday, there was only one place I wanted to go, and they did not disappoint.
The Filete al Chipotle is absolutely outstanding. If you have never tried it, you are missing out. It was just as incredible as I remembered—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and unforgettable. We used to eat here once a week from the time I was 12 until I moved out at 18, and the quality has remained consistently excellent.
The owner is genuinely one of the nicest people you will ever meet. After more than 16 years, he still remembered me, which says a lot about the care and pride they take in their customers.
Fantastic food, exceptional service, and a restaurant that truly stands the test of time. Highly recommended

I used to be a huge fan of their original location on Bellaire, but we noticed a marked decline in the quality of the food and service when they moved to their spot on Kirby. The service (at least in our experience) was apathetic, it got way are more expensive, and the food- especially the chile en nogada- was never quite the same.
I’m sorry to hear that they’re closing, but I can’t help but wonder if others shared our opinion.

Best Mexican Brunch in Kirby area! Coming here took me back to Mexico 🇲🇽, the food tasted like home!
I loved that they did this Brunch, Mexico Style, they had a cook making omelette right there, with the ingredients of your choice, and he would do waffles and pancakes fresh from scratch, yum!
The had the best dishes from Mexico! Pozole verde, Pozole rojo, Menudo, Mole negro, Mole poblano, Carne guisada, Chicharrón en salsa, Ensalada de nopales, Guacamole, Tamales oaxaqueños, and much more!
The cost per person was $48, a bit on the pricy side, but if you appreciate good Mexican food, you get your moneys worth.
They had a table full of delicious desserts, my favorite were arroz con leche and choco flan.
I got my Mexican Coke and food wise, the mole poblano, the pozole rojo and the rajas con queso, by far my favorite!

The food is always fantastic! On thsi cooler November day they had th patio open with no heaters, the temperature was absolutely perfect. Our server David was very knowledgeable or the menu and explained th specials perfectly. We look forward to our next visit.
9 of us for lunch. Nachos Jorge excellent. Everyone liked what they ordered. What a shame this restaurant is closing.
... it's sooo sad that they are closing after 40+ years! Get there when you can cause time is running out! We'll miss you Arnando and family... end of an era. So many noteworthy occasions there... oh, and ask for the 'other's margarita menu.

It was a 9 course meal and every course took about 20 minutes to come out. We saw several tables leave early. It got late and we also left before being served all the courses.

The food was outstanding. Ceviche... excellent. All the seafood dishes were cooked to perfection and tasty. The octopus was cooked to perfection ... not rubbery or slimy ... just the right consistency. My fish cooked in banana leaf was perfect. The sides were excellent too ... rice pickled onions, refried black beans, etc. We were a party of 8 ranging from 8 to 70 ... all enjoyed their meal. The venue was great and staff was great.
