I contacted Astral to quote on a dinner party for 10 people at my home. I was ordering from their "Platinum" (most expensive) menu. It took 3 business days to get a quote (there are no prices on their website). The quote I got was for the food - $565, delivery - $50 and a mysterious "service charge" -$89.10 and taxes. Their prices are as much as a high-end restaurant in Houston which is fine if the food was good. But I wanted to know what the $89.10 service charge was for. It took another 3 business days to get back to me. The service charge is to "cover the cost for things such as insurance, advertising, admin staff, trucks maintenance, fuel to get to events etc." This is hilarious. Their prices are already much higher than many other caterers in the city and they already charge an appropriate delivery charge. Their delivery charge does not help pay for fuel and maintenance? I think this "service charge" reveals business troubles if you ask me. In the end we'll be ordering from Hugo's where I know what quality I'm getting. I have to pick up the food myself which is fine but there is no extra "service charge". If you have a dinner party at your home, order from somewhere else. It's cheaper and easier to order from any high-end restaurant in Houston where you KNOW what you're getting. Also there are many corporate caterers out there who are much cheaper with no "service charge".I'm suspect of the other reviews here...

We had our wedding at Demers Banquet Hall, and they recommended Astral Catering for our wedding catering. From now on I can honestly say that they will be my go to catering company in Houston. The food tasted amazing, looked beautiful on the plate, and the service was exceptional. We had a full buffet, roasted tenderloin station, and the most wonderful banana foster station on the planet. The whole wedding party was licking their fingers. Thank you everyone at Astral, and we will be coming back for more!

Astral Catering designed an amazing menu, overflowed with a staggering choice of dishes.
Signature appetizers of coconut shrimps and spanakopita didn’t leave any guest empty handed before the event started.
The flavor of the nuts balanced the taste of the fresh green leaves salad, the seafood salad was executed perfectly and the bright colors of the ingredients made it a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. Few people eat salads at a big wedding meal with lots of other competition on the table but they were too good to pass up!
Full credit to the chef, filet mignon was a stunner, very tender and juicy, wonderful taste!
Chicken Kiev (kotlety po kievski), fried and crispy outside and moist inside, were absolutely delicious.
All dishes (and there were a lot more I haven’t listed) excelled!

I got so many compliments on the food which was more than delicious. We did not have a wedding planner, but they kept in steady contact with us and were patient when we changed our minds on things. They also handled the linens and silverware, which was perfect. They threw in added decor such as lovely candlesticks for the bride and groom's sweetheart table, as well as a beautiful silver cake stand. I did not even think to ask about this, it was just a thoughtful touch. I highly recommend this company for business or a wedding!
