Wish there was someone to take my order instead of going to the counter to place and pay first before eating and drinking. Must pay for drinks each time.

I saw this place on channel 2 “Eat Like a Local” and knew we had to try it. We drove from Rosenberg +\- 40 minutes and IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE!

We ordered:

•The House salad. I know what you’re thinking, it’s just a basic salad….NOPE. The dressing is sooo good I’m gonna dream about it.

•GUMBEAUX in an xl bowl (to bring leftovers for later lol. Sad thing is there wasn’t that much leftover to bring whomp whomp). It was so delicious. Sitting outside and we could smell it outside as it was being made, it made our mouths water.

•Cheeseburger, this had a cheddar gouda mix we did not get to try. Kiddo don’t like cheese. I know this is a seafood place but my kiddo wanted a burger. I figured Eh a burger I didn’t expect much it’s just a burger…..I was so wrong. This was hands down the best burger I’ve ever had thus far. My kiddo said, “this was a happy cow!” It was that good.

•Catfish & Shrimp. It was sooo dang good even the kiddo who doesn’t care for seafood (ordered the burger) finished off the catfish. The super picky 2yr old devoured the shrimp (and that one doesn’t like anything)!

•Seafood Pasta. This is penne with shrimp and crab meat in Cajun sauce. The presentation was beautiful but the taste was just as wonderful.

We ordered a variety of different plates to try (share) and each one that was brought out seemed to get better and better. We finished eating and were trying to process what just happened. It was all so delicious, we all over ate and were bordering a food coma.

We were recommended the homemade banana pudding……UHMMM EXCUSE MEEE!!! How is this even legal?! I only ordered 2 to go, BIG MISTAKE. Once we had a taste everyone was fighting for more. This stuff is deliciously addictive.

This place is phenomenal. The menu was created with love and passion and every dish is hand crafted with magic. You simply must try.

This spot right here is a hidden gem. The first time I came, I had the Catfish and Grits, and it honestly set the tone. The catfish was seasoned perfectly, fried just right, and the grits were creamy with real flavor, not just filler. You can tell they put pride in the plate.

I came back for round two and tried the Crab Rice, and let me tell you — they didn’t miss. The crab was fresh, the rice was seasoned, and the flavor was just layered. Not salty, not heavy…just good. It tasted like somebody back there actually knows what they're doing and cares about the food.

The atmosphere is exactly what I like…cozy, intimate, and relaxed. The music sets the vibe without being too loud, and the whole place just makes you want to sit, talk, and enjoy your food. No rush, no fuss.

This is the kind of place you go back to. And I will.

If you like real flavor, comfort food done right, and a spot with good energy — Backyard Boil House is it.

The crab legs are def worth the hype and the banana pudding’s to die for. The portions are great also. The bartender made our cocktails perfectly too. We’ll be back :) thank yall

My sister and I went after reading the reviews on their gumbo. This place did not disappoint! The outside patio was beautiful. I got a cup of gumbo, shrimp and oyster po boy and banana pudding. Everything was amazing!

When I arrived I wasn’t sure I was going to stay, parking was limited and there was no sign on the building wasn’t really sure I was in the right place, that has nothing to do with the food, service and Fantastic Atmosphere Pleasantly surprised when I say “You betta get in here!”, don’t be fooled by the outside appearance don’t miss out because you couldn’t find the perfect parking spot Go in Anyway, this is some of the best food I had experienced during my trip to Houston, Tx and the top it all off with a Lavender martini This is a must try and I will be back, I now have a whole new crew and meet them right here

I’ve passed this place multiple times heading home and even follow them on Instagram. I finally went in on a Sunday evening and it was the worst experience ever ! Upon entering there wasn’t a big crowd, maybe 6 people. I ordered the snapper with shrimp which wasn’t cheap but also was advertised so good, I just had to try it. I placed my order around 4pm and waitied almost 2 hours with out any concern from the owner or person behind the bar. Upon receiving my food, it was very flavorless and fried horribly! The shrimp was fried in flour as well. I would not suggest this place to anyone, especially if your hungry. It also seems if your not a friend of the owner or not a familiar face you don’t get the same service.
Tips: tell the cooks to change gloves, he had to same pair of gloves on doing everything inside and outside.

The wait time for food was INSANE! I honestly don't mind waiting 30-40 minutes for Good and fresh food, which it was, but it was about 30 minutes for my meal and my husband's came out 30 minutes after mine and no one came to tell us it how much longer it would be. I wish I was exaggerating when I said it took almost 40 minutes to get water that I had to ask for TWICE and didnt even get a refill. On top of that, you have to pay and tip BEFORE you get your food. Why am I tipping beforehand for mediocre service?

The food was good and the staff was friendly, it's just the lack of real customer service and wait time is a real downside. Im pretty sure we won't be back.

The food was okay. The service was slow, couldn’t make substitutions, a very small place.
