I've been dining at La Columbe D'or since 1985 and been through its many changes. It is still THE go to place for a quiet romantic dinner or lunch. Its the kind of place where manners still matter and you can have a conversation without having to yell at each other. The menu is a little smaller than it used to be but they execute what is on the menu very very well. There is simply no other place like it in the city and for the quality, the prices are very reasonable....
lovely hosts, but we didnt get a server till 40 min later, im not going to be chasing the staff either in a high-end restaurant. Everyone else got attended fast and waiters kept walking by ignoring us, could it be because we were the young couple amongst everyone else and there's a bad stigma about tips? Great elegant atmosphere. First cabin, attentive, professional, friendly service. Many unique menu choices. Beautiful presentation of food. Tasty courses. Am surprised that restaurant is not filled up; must be a hidden gem.
